  • Patent number: 5350239
Abstract: A flexible intermediate bulk container has a liner which is provided with one or more hollow suspension members for fastening the liner to an outer container in correct relative position. The suspension means members form vents for expulsion of air from the liner during and subsequent to filling with particulate bulk material. The suspension members are preferably tubular to provide vents for the interior of the liner. Such vents may be controlled by one-way valve devices.

  • Patent number: 5192133
Abstract: The present invention relates to a flexible intermediate bulk container (FIBC) for transportation, storage and lifting of bulk material. The container has improved bottom and top construction, and it comprises a hose shape blank made from a round woven fabric or from at least one piece of flat woven fabric joined at its bottom and/or top end after folding the blank in three or more longitudinal folds each consisting of two layers. The length of the joint(s) is less than 1/4 of the container circumference. The FIBC has a filling opening, possibly a liner and might have a lifting loop which is formed by integral extensions of the side walls of the blank.

  • Patent number: 5151076
Abstract: A flexible container for lifting transportation and storing of bulk material is manufactured from a hose-like blank, where one half-length portion of the hose-like blank is turned inside out and threaded onto or fitted over the other half-length portion form an inner sack and an outer sack having a common base or individual abases. The hose-like blank has at a mid-length thereof two or more longitudinal slots or openings separated by the same distance around the circumference of the hose-like blank. One half-length portion is rotated with regard to the other half-length portion around a central axis of the hose-like blank, such that the material of the areas between the slots after rotation forms two or more integrated lifting loops.

  • Patent number: 5002400
Abstract: A flexible container is formed from a hose-like blank having two diametrically opposite longitudinal slots or holes and at least one intermediate slot or hole. One half of the hose-like blank is inserted through the intermediate slot in such way that one inner sack, one outer sack and at least one integral lifting loop defined by material areas are formed. Two material areas are formed by material sections between the opposite slots and the intermediate slot extending from the outer sack directly into the inner sack. A third material area is formed by a material section between the opposite slots and extending from the outer sack between the first two material area and into the inner sack.

  • Patent number: 4991979
Abstract: A flexible intermediate bulk container includes at least one lifting loop and a double base made of two bottom parts that can be direct extensions of sidewalls of the container. The bottom parts have openings positioned directly one above the other, thus forming an opening in the base. In between the bottom parts it is arranged a closure of flexible material with projections on each side of one end. The projections of the closure are fastened to the base by joints or seams. The other end of the closure has a handle. The closure can be made of woven fabric of similar or the same type as that of the container.

  • Patent number: 4925317
Abstract: A flexible intermediate container has at least one improved lifting loop formed by joining integral extensions of a side wall structures. The extensions are at their upper free ends cut to form at least two flaps which are positioned above or below the extensions on both sides of a folding line or seam, thus forming a lifting loop joint comprising frictional area of overlapping layers of fabric material. Friction therebetween is secured by a frictional agent such 2500 glue or hot-melt and/or by a mechanical device. The lifting loop can be gathered together and surrounded by at least one band or sleeve.

  • Patent number: 4467845
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and means for filling of bulk material, especially fluidized material, is filled into a flexible container through a filling pipe while the container is hanging on a double, load carrying hook and simultaneously is resting against a supporting plate. Lifting loops of the container are stretched out during the entire filling operation. When filling of the container is completed, the hook and the supporting plate or plane are lowered simultaneously and the plane is also moved sideways, whereby the filling pipe is freed from the container. An external lever is then put into the lifting loop and the hook is opened, whereupon the container can be removed from the filling apparatus without having had any opportunity to tilt. The filling apparatus comprises a double hook with a lower section which can be opened while the hook is still in load carrying operation. The hook is connected to a holding device which preferably is movably connected to the plane for carrying the container.

  • Patent number: 4420021
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for filling bulk material into flexible containers. The filling is carried out through a filling pipe or spout while the container is hanging on a hook. The impervious part of the container, which may be in form of an inner bag, is fastened around the spout and kept in place during the filling operation without any special fastening means. This is obtained by first hanging at least one lifting loop on the hook before the pipe is put into the container. Then the remaining loops are hooked onto the hook during simultaneous or subsequent filling of the container with air. The loops are secured together while the container is hanging on the hook. Thus, the container will be made ready for further transport as soon as it is filled and its impervious bag is closed. The apparatus comprises a batch weigher, storage bin having an outlet into a funnel with a pipe for supplying air.
