  • Publication number: 20240125163
Abstract: A chain support mechanism for use with an openable frame component and a method of using such a chain support is provided, where a chain actuator is provided in a housing, the chain actuator including a push-pull chain which chain can bend in one direction only, the housing mounted with its longitudinal extent along one frame component with the chain attached to the openable frame component where the chain actuator may be manipulated to extend or withdraw the chain from the housing, thereby moving the openable frame component, and where the chain support mechanism includes a first arm pivotably fastened to the housing and a second arm pivotably fastened to the openable frame component, where the distal end of the first arm and the distal end of the second arm are pivotably connected by a sliding member, against which sliding member the chain may slide.

  • Patent number: 9476488
Abstract: A push-pull chain actuator (1) includes a housing with a chain exit/entry opening (4) and a sprocket (9) arranged to engage a push-pull chain (3). The sprocket (9) causes the polygon effect. The actuator includes a first chain guide part (10a) for guiding said push-pull chain (3) around the sprocket (9) and a second chain guide part (lob) for guiding said push-pull chain (3) at the correct angle between the chain exit/entry opening (4) and the sprocket (9). The second chain guide part (10b) is shaped and dimensioned to counteract the polygon effect. Alternatively, the second chain guide part (10b) can be shaped and dimensioned to reduce chain oscillations caused by the rollers (8c) engaging or disengaging the chain exit/entry opening (4) at the end of the second chain guide part (10b).

  • Patent number: 8763482
Abstract: A push-pull chain actuator (1) comprises a housing with a chain exit/entry opening (4) and a sprocket (2) arranged to engage a push-pull chain (3). The sprocket (2) causes the polygon effect. The actuator comprises a first chain guide part (10a) for guiding said push-pull chain (3) around the sprocket (2) and a second chain guide part (10b) for guiding said push-pull chain (3) at the correct angle between the chain exit/entry opening (4) and the sprocket (2). The second chain guide part (10b) is shaped as a meandering path to counteract the polygon effect. Alternatively, the second chain guide part (10b) can be shaped and dimensioned to reduce chain oscillations caused by the rollers (8c) engaging or disengaging the chain exit/entry opening (4) at the end of the second chain guide part (10b).

  • Patent number: 5802768
Abstract: A manually releasable coupling device for connecting an elongate operator chain (2) with a frame or main frame member of a window comprises a first coupling member (3) for connection with a free end of the operator chain (2) and a second coupling member (6-10) designed for mounting in or on the frame or main frame member. The first coupling member is a flat disc-shaped element (3) with a substantially keyhole-shaped recess 85), while the second coupling member comprises a shaft section (6) for mounting in a bore in the frame member or the main frame member in connection with a turning handle (7). The shaft section (6) has a local constriction (8) for releasable engagement with the keyhole-shaped recess (5) in the disc-shaped element (3).In order to allow manual closing of the window under surmounting of sealing pressure, the shaft section may be eccentric relative to the rotational axis of the turning handle.
