  • Publication number: 20230319714
Abstract: A UE determines an activity status associated with each CC of a set of CCs based on PDCCH decoding of DCI. The set of CCs may be associated with hardware modules at the UE. An inactive set of CCs may be determined to have an inactive activity status. An active set of CCs may be determined to have an active activity status. The inactive set of CCs may be associated with a first set of hardware modules of the hardware modules. The active set of CCs may be associated with a second set of hardware modules of the hardware modules. The UE may activate a partial sleep mode at the first set of hardware modules associated with the inactive set of CCs.

  • Patent number: 8872677
Abstract: A compression method applies a selection rule to input symbols and generates a reduced partial set of symbols. The partial set is checked against a dictionary-index for a match. A match identifies a range of matching symbols in a dictionary. The length of the matching range is iteratively increased by checking previous and next symbols in the input data and the dictionary until a matching range length meets a threshold limit or the length of the matching range cannot be increased further. Compressed data corresponding to the input symbols is provided where input symbols are copied over and symbols in a matched range of data are replaced with a representation of their corresponding start location and length in the dictionary.

  • Patent number: 8462027
Abstract: A method and apparatus are described for determining whether to convey a communication signal in a compressed form along a communication path. The method comprises the steps of: (i) providing the communication signal that should be conveyed along said communication path; (ii) determining whether at least part of the communication signal comprises data having a non-random distribution; (iii) if the at least part of the communication signal is determined to comprise data having at least partially a non-random distribution, applying a compression algorithm onto that at least part of the communication signal to form a compressed form of the communication signal provided; and (iv) conveying the communication signal in its compressed form along the communication path.

  • Publication number: 20030193950
Abstract: A communication protocol is disclosed which comprises the use of a communication frame adapted to be used as a UDP payload. The communication frame comprise a plurality of mini packets, where at least some of the mini packets comprise a composite header and a data packet, where the composite header comprises a mini header with an identification of a user associated with a data packet; a flag indicating whether the protocol header is in a compressed mode or is in a transparent mode; an indication of the length of the mini packet; and a protocol header.

  • Publication number: 20030181194
Abstract: A method for compression of signaling information in a telecommunication network, the method comprising the steps of a) providing a transmission link for transmitting a transmission including signaling information from a transmitting end of the transmission to its receiving end, b) at the transmitting end, suppressing the transmission of at least some of the signaling information in accordance with a prevailing compression scheme; and c) at the receiving end, regenerating the signaling information suppressed at the transmitting end.

  • Patent number: 6549515
Abstract: In a telecommunication network, a method for managing varying traffic load by establishing an instantaneous demand for bandwidth at a pre-defined location of the telecommunication network. The total number of bits required is compared with a number of bits available for use in that pre-defined location, and a bit rate adjusting mechanism is applied to each one of the algorithms associated with an active channels when required. The bit adjusting mechanism is based on pre-defined functions that describe the number of bits that will be allocated for each active algorithm under varying loads of the network. Thus, the bit adjusting mechanism allow the adjustment of the number of bits for each one the network channels, obeying to the constrain that the total number of bits allocated to all channels shall not exceed the total number of bits available.
