The preparation contains a chelating metal complex compound with a monodentate, bidentate, or polydentate ligand that exhibits affinity to hydrogen ion, an ionogenic surfactant, and a solvent. The preparation displays antiseptic properties. The preparation inhibits Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, viruses, and spores. The preparation can be applied in a broad temperature range.
