  • Patent number: 8181842
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for assembly by brazing an end cover onto a cylindrical body, said end cover presenting a circular peripheral rim via which said cover is brazed onto a part of one of the end surfaces of the cylindrical body, this device being characterized in that the above-mentioned cover is shaped in such a way that, on the above-mentioned end surface of the cylindrical body, the circular peripheral part of the above-mentioned cover exerts a compressive stress, after brazing, on substantially the whole contact area between the end surface of the cover and the end surface of the cylindrical body.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 22, 2010
Date of Patent: May 22, 2012
    Assignee: Schneider Electric Industries SAS
Inventors: Hans Schellekens, Marie-Françoise Devismes, Dominique Mazzucchi, Olga Kozlova

  • Publication number: 20100316885
Abstract: The present invention relates to an assembly method by reactive brazing of a first metallic element such as an end cover plate of a vacuum cartridge with a second element such as the cylindrical body of said cartridge, said second element comprising an ion-covalent oxide at least at the surface by means of an alloy called added alloy designed to constitute a liquid brazing alloy designed to wet the two respectively metallic and ion-covalent oxide surfaces to be assembled of the above-mentioned two elements, said brazing alloy containing titanium and said metallic element containing nickel.

  • Patent number: 7578188
Abstract: This invention relates to high precision, fluid-containing, transducer-based accelerometers that are capable of measuring acceleration, inclination, position and velocity by measuring the electronic response of a transducer to fluid flow caused by external acceleration or by free convection. The accelerometers of this invention are capable of varying the local density of the fluid, thereby creating a volume of fluid with a lower or higher density compared to the rest of the fluid in the accelerometer. The movement of this volume of lower or higher density fluid as a result of external acceleration is measured to determine the external acceleration.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 11, 2007
Date of Patent: August 25, 2009

  • Publication number: 20060094002
Abstract: The present invention provides a method of using eukaryotic cells being transformed with a light emitting Ca2+ regulated photoprotein gene for determining the presence or absence of at least one toxic substance in a sample and for assisting in the identification of the toxicant(s). More specifically there is provided a toxicity assay for various uses including determining the presence of toxins and in particular heavy metals and organophenols, general cytoxicity testing of pure chemicals and chemical mixtures in particular for drug development testing, testing of food and drink products, cosmetics testing and identification of organisms in particular of fungal strains.
