  • Publication number: 20140026424
Abstract: A razor having a housing, a guard located at a front of the housing and a cap located at a rear of the housing. A skin contact plane is tangential to the guard and the cap. A blade couplet is disposed in the housing, the blade couplet being formed of a leading blade having a leading edge and a trailing blade having a trailing edge, both edges being directed towards the front of the housing and the leading blade being positioned between the guard and the trailing blade. There is a span of about 25 ?m to about 850 ?m between the leading edge and the trailing edge, the leading edge has an exposure of about 25 ?m to about 500 ?m below the skin contact plane, the trailing edge is positioned in line with or above the leading edge and has an exposure of about 150 ?m above the skin contact plane to about 300 ?m below the skin contact plane, and the difference in exposure between the leading edge and the trailing edge is equal to or less than the span between the leading edge and the trailing edge.

  • Publication number: 20110058030
Abstract: A digital microscope for viewing the surface of an object comprises a housing having a proximal end and a distal end. The distal end forms an opening to the housing. A sensor that receives light reflected from the surface of an object is located towards the proximal end of the housing. The sensor converts the light to a digital image. A lens that focuses light reflected from the object onto the sensor is located within the housing between the sensor and the object to be viewed. A reflective member is located within the opening. In use, light is reflected from the object to the sensor and a portion of the reflected light is directed via the reflective member such that the surface of the object can be viewed simultaneously from two different directions.

  • Patent number: 7818884
Abstract: A shaving apparatus comprising a first shaving unit, including a first outer cutter (101,102) and a first undercutter (20) which cooperate together, a skin agitation member (12), a housing and a drive source (58) mounted in the housing. The outer cutter is mounted in a frame (10). The drive source is coupled to the first undercutter to provide oscillatory movement with respect to the frame at a frequency in the range 70 to 280 Hz. The drive source is also coupled to the skin agitation member to provide oscillatory movement at a frequency in the range 5 to 50 Hz. The first outer cutter is un-driven with respect to the frame.

  • Patent number: 6233829
Abstract: A safety razor blade unit includes a hair pulling member (7) located immediately in front of the cutting edge of a blade (6), the hair pulling member (7) having slots (10) through which the hairs pass defined by a series of elements (9). The edges of the elements (9) which define the slots (10) are formed to notch the hairs as they pass through the slots, and trailing end portions (14) of the elements (9) are inclined to guide the hairs to follow a path for pulling the hairs from the skin just before they are cut through by the blade.
