  • Patent number: 6990399
Abstract: An agricultural utility vehicle includes a computer to execute the steps of storing data representing steering direction, position and speed of the agricultural vehicle; recognizing repeated drive events wherein each drive event comprises a plurality of serially performed functions including changing steering direction, changing speed and changing lift position of a hitch of the agricultural utility vehicle; displaying each function on a screen and enabling a user to skip functions and execute subsequent functions; executing the functions to automatically control the vehicle on private areas, which are determined in accordance with means for sensing position; blocking execution of the functions in public areas; deactivating control when obstacles are encountered, wherein the obstacles are recognized by way of signals received from cameras mounted on the agricultural vehicle; and periodically prompting a user for input.

  • Patent number: 6942595
Abstract: A control system for the drive of a power take-off mechanism on an agricultural tractor that records machine-specific values of the implement attached to the tractor. The drive train between the tractor engine and the power take-off includes a CVT transmission. The control device is connected with a processor via a signal lead for receiving its output signals. The control device is connected for the formation of output signals via input leads with switches, controls, sensors, and actuators for the tractor to read the machine specific parameters of the attached implement.

  • Publication number: 20050087378
Abstract: An agricultural vehicle includes a plurality of wheels, including at least one driving wheel connected to an engine via a gearbox with variable gear ratios, a plurality of tires, and a plurality of wheel-slip-reducing mechanisms, such as a mechanism for moving weight about the vehicle, a mechanism for adjusting drivetrain gear ratios, a mechanism for adjusting tire pressure, and a mechanism for changing engine speed. The vehicle further comprises a central microcomputer to which the mechanisms are electrically connected and a controller for wheel slip adjustment and a controller for setting a minimum vehicle travelling speed, the controllers being connected via the microcomputer with the mechanisms.

  • Patent number: 6619451
Abstract: A control system is utilized for the starting and running-down of a PTO shaft on an agricultural vehicle, such as a tractor. The hydraulically actuated clutch, as well as the other parts and sub-assemblies connected with the clutch as part of the drive, attain a maximum service life under all conditions of use. The control system, both in normal operating mode and also in management operating mode, protects the cardan shaft against destruction through too great an angle of flexion. Finally, in the management mode of operation, the control system prevents the occurrence of a loss of time, which would reduce the effective time of use of the tractor with the tool in question, and renders impossible a stalling of the engine when starting the PTO shaft through too early ground contact of the tool, in which the PTO shaft is not yet turning.

  • Patent number: 6517465
Abstract: A method for controlling the drive mechanism of a utility vehicle having a power take-off shaft, where the drive mechanism including an engine, a transmission, a power take-off shaft clutch and a controller, operates the drive mechanism in a careful and economical manner. The method of controlling the engine includes the step of issuing an instruction for engaging the power take-off shaft clutch at a low rotational speed of the engine so that the power take-off shaft clutch is engaged in a controlled manner. If the rotational speed of the engine is above a threshold, the rotational speed is automatically reduced before the engaging the power take-off shaft clutch. After fully engaging the power take-off shaft clutch, the rotational speed of the engine is automatically increased until reaching of the rotational speed of the engine required for the nominal rotational speed of the power take-off shaft.
