  • Patent number: 7281442
Abstract: A reduction gearbox with an epicyclic gear train is provided for a motor vehicle starter. This gearbox includes a crown (30) comprising a outer crown part (31) and an inner crown part (32) carrying an internal set of teeth (33) together with shock absorbing elements (34). The the damping elements (34) are made in the form of plates disposed in seatings which consist of complementary recesses (36, 37) formed respectively in an outer peripheral face (38) of the inner crown part (32) and in an inner peripheral face (39) of the outer crown part (31). Each recess has a depth which increases in a direction of relative angular displacement between the two crown parts, considered from the peripheral surface, over a length (a) which corresponds to the length of the plate, to a value (b) which is substantially equal to the thickness of the plate.

  • Publication number: 20050028619
Abstract: This invention relates to a reduction gearbox with an epicyclic gear train, especially for a motor vehicle starter. This gearbox is of the type including a crown (30) which comprises a fixed outer crown part (31) and an inner crown part (32) which carries an internal set of teeth (33), together with shock absorbing elements (34). The reduction gearbox is characterised in that the damping elements (34) are made in the form of plates disposed in seatings which consist of recesses (36, 37) of complementary form, formed respectively in the outer peripheral face (38) of the inner crown part (32) and in the inner peripheral face (39) of the outer crown part (31), each recess having a depth which increases in a direction of relative angular displacement between the two crown parts, considered from the peripheral surface, over a length (a) which corresponds to the length of the plate, to a value (b) which is substantially equal to the thickness of the plate. The invention is applicable to motor vehicle starters.

  • Publication number: 20040020315
Abstract: The starter for a motor vehicle comprises a starter head provided with a driver (12) and a pinion (1), an electric motor (M) provided with a shaft (101) able to drive a starter-head shaft (100), an electromagnetic contactor (2) extending parallel to the electric motor (M) above it and comprising a movable core (2d), a fork (13) mounted with articulation at its top end on the movable core (2b); the driver (12) comprises a groove for receiving the bottom end of the fork (13) delimited by two flanks (121, 122) whilst the starter head is locked in rotation by means of cooperation between the fork (13) and the driver (12) for its passage from its idle position to its position of meshing with the starting ring.

  • Patent number: 6664652
Abstract: A motor-vehicle starter of the type including an electric motor (10) including a cylindrical casing (24) within which the crown ring (58), internally toothed, of a planetary gear train (22) is mounted so as to rotate, and of the type in which the crown ring (58) is linked in rotation to the casing (24) by way of a torque-limiter device which is interposed between the crown ring (58) and a lateral flange (30, 34) and which consists of at least one annular, friction side face (82, 84) of the crown ring (58) and of a disc (88, 89) which is linked in rotation to the casing (24), which are pressed axially and elastically against one another by an elastic element (112), wherein the disc (88, 89) is linked in rotation to the casing (24) by way of at least one damper block (92), elastically deformable, which absorbs mechanical energy when it is compressed, in such a way as to damp the variations in torque transmitted to the crown ring (58).
