  • Patent number: 11977406
Abstract: A passive haptic interface includes a first element which is rotatably movable about an axis or translatably movable along an axis, the first movable element rotating or moving opposite a second fixed element. The first movable element has a first plurality of magnetic poles spaced periodically at a pole pitch Ps and in the direction of movement, and the second fixed element has a second plurality of magnetic poles periodically spaced at a pole pitch Pr and in the direction of movement, where Ps and Pr are different numbers. A periodic stress is created by the magnetic interaction between the first movable element and the second fixed element in a period Pt. The pole pitches Ps and Pr are chosen such that Pt is strictly less than the smallest of the pitches Ps and Pr.

  • Publication number: 20240134708
Abstract: A system and method for assigning a workload to one of a plurality of candidate host machines of a computing environment. The method may include receiving a request to schedule a workload, selecting a virtual machine type for executing the workload, for each candidate host machine of the plurality of candidate host machines, determining an expected waste score indicating a likelihood of resources at the candidate host machine remaining unused if the virtual machine type is assigned to the candidate host machine, selecting the candidate host machine for which the expected waste score is the lowest, and assigning the workload to the selected candidate host machine.

  • Patent number: 11875282
Abstract: A device, system and method for mode-based synchronization of data records is provided. Booking data is received, at one or more computing devices, from one of a first and second client device. When received from the first client device, in a first order mode for the booking data, the device(s): cause an order management system (OMS) to generate: order data at a first database; and cause a legacy system to generate a corresponding passenger name record (PNR) at a second database, the corresponding PNR being one-way synchronized to the order data. When received from the second client device, in a legacy mode for the booking data, the device(s): cause the legacy system to generate, a PNR and/or ticket data at the second database; and cause the OMS to generate corresponding order data at the first database, the corresponding order data being one-way synchronized to the PNR and/or the ticket data.

  • Patent number: 8957445
Abstract: A light source or sensor including: a stack of dielectric or semiconductive layers includes an alternation in a vertical direction of layers of high refractive index and of low refractive index forming an interference mirror, and presenting a top layer of high refractive index; at least one first metal pellet deposited or transferred on the top layer of the stack of layers to form a structure supporting a first Tamm plasmon mode that is spatially localized in at least one lateral direction perpendicular to the vertical direction; and at least one light emitter or detector arranged inside the stack of layers under the metal pellet and at a depth corresponding to a local maximum of the electric field of the Tamm plasmon mode to emit or detect radiation at the resonant wavelength thereof.

  • Publication number: 20130256217
Abstract: A process for treating water that includes ammonium. The water is directed to a biological reactor and the quantity of nitrates formed in the reactor and the quantity of ammonium reduced in the reactor is determined. A ratio of the quantity of nitrates formed to the quantity of ammonium reduced is determined. Further, the percentage of ammonium reduced is also determined. The water in the biological reactor is aerated by injecting oxygen into the reactor where the amount of oxygen injected is a function of the ratio and the percentage of ammonium reduced in the reactor.

  • Patent number: 8249818
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of qualifying the variability of the composition of an effluent, in which method a series of measurements is effected over time of at least one first and one second parameter of the effluent. The invention is characterized in that, in each time step, first and second derivatives of the parameters are determined, first and second logical domains are defined, probabilities of the first derivatives belonging to the first logical domains are assigned, probabilities of the second derivatives belonging to the second logical domains are assigned, global logical domains are defined, global probabilities of belonging to the global logical domains are assigned, and the variability of the composition of the effluent is qualified on the basis of these global probabilities of belonging to the global logical domains.

  • Publication number: 20120013351
Abstract: A method for converting a sensor capacitance under parasitic capacitance conditions and a capacitance-to-voltage (CV) converter circuit for converting a sensor capacitance under parasitic capacitance conditions are provided. The method comprises the step of using a two stage operational amplifier (op-amp) in non-unity-gain configuration, wherein the two stage op-amp is chosen to be unstable in unity-gain configuration for reducing power consumption.

  • Patent number: 7441691
Abstract: A method for producing parts including at least one internal cavity. In the method at least two metal sheets are diffusion bonded; then the bonded metal sheets are bent; and then each of internal cavities is inflated by superplastic forming. The method is carried out by a mold allowing at least one first part to be diffusion bonded and then bent while inflating at least one second part by superplastic forming during a single operation, whereby the mold is heated. The method can be applied, e.g., to the field of aeronautics.
