  • Patent number: 4101359
Abstract: A highly absorbent and fragile composite sheet normally used as a throwaway domestic wiper is quickly and easily converted to a strong and attractive colored wallcovering. Thus, a composite layer comprising a net material sandwiched between and bonded to a pair of cellulosic-fleece (wadding) layers has a carrier sheet of paper bonded thereto, has colorant applied thereto, and is impregnated with a synthetic resinous bonding medium so that the fleece layers are bonded together at the mesh openings of the net material. In a preferred construction, the carrier sheet of paper has an internal cohesion inferior to that of the composite layer so that with the covering on the wall the composite layer is peelable from the carrier sheet adhering to the wall.

  • Patent number: 3996828
Abstract: A device for cutting longitudinal strips from reels of material in sheet form comprising a frame carrying a rotatable shaft to which is secured a disc having an annular peripheral surface which in transverse section has a rouned profile against which bears two cylindrical bearing surfaces formed on a rotatable member carried by an arm pivotably connected to the frame. The cylindrical bearing surfaces are separated from one another and disposed in different planes for contacting the rounded profile of the peripheral surfaces at spaced locations on the rounded profile. The bearing surfaces can be formed on spaced roller bearings whose inner cages are secured in axially spaced rotation on the supporting spindle. The bearing surfaces can also be formed on a ring having a groove therein.

  • Patent number: 3981215
Abstract: Apparatus for cutting sheet material unwound from a roll supported adjacent a cutter, the cutter comprising a stationary cutting member and a distinct movable cutting member adapted to cut material placed between the cutting members. The stationary cutting member is mounted on a support which can be affixed to a wall or supported on legs on the floor, and the movable cutting member is guidably supported for longitudinal travel along the stationary cutting member on which it rides to effect cutting of the material.
