  • Patent number: 9630522
Abstract: A method controls a motor vehicle including an internal combustion engine coupled to a first axle set and to at least two electric machines each one coupled to one wheel of a second axle set. The method includes determining the speed of at least one of the electric machines; comparing the determined speed against a threshold; and altering, if the determined speed is above the threshold, the maximum torque of the electric machines so as to limit the rotational speed of the machines.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 26, 2013
Date of Patent: April 25, 2017
    Assignee: RENAULT s.a.s.
Inventors: Ahmed Ketfi-Cherif, Gregory Launay, Abdelmalek Maloum, Olivier Scheffges, Maxime Debert
  • Publication number: 20160272219
Abstract: A vehicle control system for a motor vehicle includes functional modules for controlling elements of the vehicle, a fault management module generating confirmed fault signals from fault data, and a global management module for the operating modes of the vehicle. The global management module generates a mode signal when it detects at least one confirmed fault signal and distributes, to the functional modules, the mode signal including an instruction to the functional modules to switch the elements of the vehicle to a restricted operating mode in relation to the confirmed fault signal or signals detected.

  • Patent number: 8989993
Abstract: A method for controlling actuation of a control device to be integrated into a starter of a combustion engine. The device includes a solenoid controlling a position of a starter sprocket capable of being inserted into a ring gear kinematically connected to a crankshaft of the engine. The sprocket can be driven by an electric motor of the starter by closing a first switched power line between a battery and the starter. The device includes an auxiliary relay and at least one power resistor mounted in series, thus forming a second switched power line parallel to the first switched line for powering, with a supply current lower than the maximum current, the electric motor of the starter driving the sprocket.
