Patent number: 7225605Abstract: The invention relates to textile machines with several spinning places, whereby each spinning place comprises a can feeding means, a spinning unit, and winding unit. The invention is based on the task to design the spinning places in such a manner, to minimize the downtimes due to failures of machine components, or during re-fitting. According to the invention, such a spinning place is furnished with modularly structured and exchangeable spinning units and or winding units.Type: GrantFiled: October 30, 2003Date of Patent: June 5, 2007Assignee: Maschinenfabrik Rieter AGInventors: Olivier Wüst, Herbert Stalder

Patent number: 7024848Abstract: The application relates to a device for air spinning, i.e., for the manufacture of a spun yarn from a sliver. The device contains in particular a fiber guide element, a fiber conveying channel, and an eddy chamber housing attached to the fiber guide element. The eddy chamber housing contains in its turn a spindle with a yarn guide channel arranged at a distance interval from the fiber guide element. In addition, the eddy chamber housing contains a fluid device with at least one jet nozzle for the production of an eddy current about an inlet aperture mouth of the yarn guide channel. The fiber conveying channel exhibits a tunnel cladding, which is dimensioned in such a way that at the end of the fiber conveying channel a step to the eddy chamber housing is formed.Type: GrantFiled: March 19, 2003Date of Patent: April 11, 2006Assignee: Maschinenfabrik Rieter AGInventors: Herbert Stalder, Olivier Wüst

Patent number: 6959532Abstract: The invention concerns a start of spinning or the method of piecing for spinning positions of air spinning frames, which, during a spinning process, produce a thread from a longitudinal fiber structure and which, for this, comprise a fineness influencing unit with parts drivable at the inlet side and part drivable at the outlet side with clamping points, a means for the air twist generation and a means for the thread take-off, whereby, after an interruption of the spinning process, the resumption of the production of the thread comprises the following steps. In particular, the method does provide for, that the start-up of the part of the drafting unit, driven at the outlet side, takes place with a subsequent time coordinated and delayed start-up of the part driven at the inlet side, in such a manner that the end portions of the torn longitudinal fiber structure and of the thread end overlap and pass, in overlapping condition, the clamping point of the part driven at the outlet side.Type: GrantFiled: June 18, 2003Date of Patent: November 1, 2005Assignee: Maschinenfabrik Rieter AGInventors: Olivier Wüst, Herbert Stalder

Publication number: 20040123581Abstract: The invention relates to air spinning frames for the production of spun thread (2) from a staple fibre strand (3), comprising a drafting unit (4) followed by a spinning box (5) with a twisting chamber (9) and a spindle (8). The invention was based on the task to provide a design by means of which the distance between the drafting unit (4) and the spindle (8) can be newly adjusted in a fast and simple manner. This task has been solved according to the invention by attaching an adjusting device (10) to adjust the distance (I) between the drafting unit and the spindle (8).Type: ApplicationFiled: August 29, 2003Publication date: July 1, 2004Applicant: MASCHINENFABRIK RIETER AGInventor: Olivier Wuest

Publication number: 20040107688Abstract: For an air spinning frame, reluctance motors are provided for each spinning place to drive the pairs of rollers of the drafting unit, the drawing-off means, and the friction roller. Thereby, for the run-up of a spinning place, e.g., after a thread break, a specific frequency converter is provided. After reaching the stationary operating speed, a switch over onto a further frequency converter takes place, at which time, the corresponding reluctance motors of the other spinning places are driven in parallel. By the use of reluctance motors it can be done without a complex speed regulation means. A specific dimensioning of the reluctance motors permits a very fast run-up and a particularly good efficiency during the stationary operation.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 29, 2003Publication date: June 10, 2004Applicant: MASCHINENFABRIK RIETER AGInventors: Olivier Wuest, Wolf Horst

Patent number: 6611994Abstract: The present invention relates to the application of fiber length measurement in the blowroom or carding room of a spinning mill. A method and an apparatus in a textile processing machine are described in which before and/or after a working element of the textile processing machine the nep count and/or the fiber length (staple) is determined, with an open-loop/closed-loop control unit being provided which receives the values for the fiber length and/or the nep count as input and determines therefrom the optimized machine setting data and outputs the same to at least one actuator of a working element which influences the nep count and/or the staple of the textile processing machine.Type: GrantFiled: June 22, 2001Date of Patent: September 2, 2003Assignee: Maschinenfabrik Rieter AGInventors: Jürg Bischofberger, Götz Theodor Gresser, Olivier Wüest, Christian Sauter, Jürg Faas, Peter Artzt, Volker Jehle, Hermann Maidel

Patent number: 6477734Abstract: In a fiber-processing machine with a separating edge, in which both fibers as well as air are guided past the edge in a substantially predetermined conveying direction, air layers loaded with dirt particles or waste are deflected by means of the edge from the stream of fibers/air. The removal of dirt is aided at first by means of blast air.Type: GrantFiled: July 9, 2001Date of Patent: November 12, 2002Assignee: Maschinenfabrik Rieter AGInventors: Götz Theodor Gresser, Olivier Wüst, Rolf Böhler, Christian Griesshammer

Publication number: 20020152583Abstract: The present invention relates to the application of fiber length measurement in the blowroom or carding room of a spinning mill. A method and an apparatus in a textile processing machine are described and claimed in which before and/or after a working element of the textile processing machine the nep count and/or the fiber length (staple) is determined, with an open-loop/closed-loop control unit being provided which receives the said values for the fiber length and/or the nep count as input values and determines therefrom the optimized machine setting data and outputs the same to at least one actuator of a working element which influences the nep count and/or the staple of the textile processing machine.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 22, 2001Publication date: October 24, 2002Applicant: Maschinefabrik Rieter AGInventors: Jurg Bischofberger, Gotz Theodor Gresser, OLivier Wuest, Christian Sauter, Jurg Faas, Peter Artzt, Volker Jehle, Hermann Maidel

Patent number: 6219885Abstract: The main drum diameter (D) of a card for short staple carding is reduced. The working width preferentially is enlarged. The main drum (50) can be made from fiber reinforced synthetic material. Notwithstanding its smaller diameter, the new main drum is operated at the same or a somewhat higher circumferential speed (in comparison to a conventional card).Type: GrantFiled: November 12, 1999Date of Patent: April 24, 2001Assignee: Maschinenfabrik Rieter AGInventors: Jürg Faas, Beat Näf, Olivier Wüst, Christian Sauter, Theodor Gresser Götz
