  • Patent number: 6445305
Abstract: A system and method for detecting a low battery voltage supplied to a battery operated integrated circuit. A stable reference voltage provided by a bangap reference is compared with the battery voltage. A switched capacitor circuit is used instead of the more conventional resistor combination to supply a scaled representation of the battery voltage. Power requirements are reduced by combining the bandgap reference and the comparator into a single component.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 1, 2001
Date of Patent: September 3, 2002
    Assignee: Mitel Semiconductor AB
    Inventors: Olle Andersson, Tony Ohlsson

  • Patent number: 5838807
Abstract: An improved analog hearing aid is provided which incorporates a current source transconductance amplifier as an input stage. The gain defining bias current of the input stage transconductance amplifier is adjusted upon the application of battery power to the hearing aid to define a low input signal gain, and is then reduced by two gain regulators to define a compression threshold and compression ratio, and to provide a maximum output ceiling. Also provided is a method of trimming the low signal gain of the hearing aid at the time battery power is applied.

  • Patent number: 5306094
Abstract: A connector element which can join frame sections whose ends are sloped relative to their longitudinal axis provides at least two flat contact surfaces which are perpendicular to each other and includes guiding projections which extend away from the respective contact surfaces, each guiding projection having a base portion and a tip portion, the tip portion tapering at a maximum angle of 20.degree. from an imaginary plane that extends perpendicularly to the associated contact surface.

  • Patent number: 4800992
Abstract: Anti-skid device of a kind that includes a chain-provided pulley that on use if brought to contact with the side of the vehicle wheel so that when the vehicle wheel is rotated the chain pieces (2) are successively thrown in between wheel and ground in order to improve the traction. The anti-skid device is rotatably journaled in an arm (7) that in turn is fastened to a housing (8) that is turnably journaled on a stub axle (9). The turning movement of the arm and the housing is achieved in one direction by a bowden wire (20) and in the other dirction by a return spring (23). The stub axle (9) of the housing (8) is fastened to a plate (10) that in turn is fastened to a tube (11) by means of welding. The tube (11) is in turn arranged in clamps (12 and 13), that in turn are fastened to the bolts holding together the vehicle axle and its spring.

  • Patent number: 4755067
Abstract: The invention refers to a seal for self-aligning spherical rolling bearings. It is characterized therein that it incorporates two cooperating annular and mainly radially directed plates affixed to one ring each. One of the plates is equipped with at least one annular sealing lip, which exerts a mainly axial pressure against the second plate.

  • Patent number: 4709592
Abstract: In a steering column, a mechanism for adjusting its length and inclination relative to the vehicle body, the steering column consisting of a steering column casing or housing, interconnecting first and second steering column tubes, the first tube being displaceable and the second pivotable relative to the housing, the second steering column tube end cooperating with the housing and having a hub limitably rotatable in a seat in the housing about an axle located perpendicular to the tube and adapted to be arrested in different angular positions by a locking mechanism, an angularly adjustable coupling interconnecting the steering gear post and the steering axle extending through the first and second steering column tubes in the housing, a common control for releasing or locking both adjustments of the steering column, a piston axially displaceable and/or pivotably supported in the housing, and biased to a position wherein it locks the first steering column tube against actual displacement and causes the blocking

  • Patent number: 4586472
Abstract: An arrangement in a motor vehicle informing the driver of fuel-economy conditions while driving the vehicle, by creating at the limit at which uneconomic driving commences a pressure point at which further depression of the pedal is resisted. The accelerator pedal is acted upon by a vacuum assembly controlled by a control valve having an auxiliary unit which compares the engine intake pressure with a limit pressure for uneconomic driving and which, when the intake pressure exceeds the limit pressure, switches the control valve to a position in which the vacuum assembly is ventilated to atmosphere, whereupon the assembly is set to an inactive state, and automatically resets the control valve to a normal working position, when the intake pressure lies beneath the limit pressure.
