  • Publication number: 20170122961
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for normalization of a label-free system for calibration-free concentration analysis. The method comprises (1) providing a solution containing a control macromolecular particle of a known concentration at a pH lower than the pI of the macromolecular particle and a low ionic strength; (2) contacting the solution with a negatively charged optical sensor surface at a first flow rate to allow electrostatic binding of the macromolecular particle to the surface and obtaining a first sensorgram; (3) contacting the solution with the optical sensor surface at a second flow rate to allow electrostatic binding of the macromolecular particle to the surface and obtaining a second sensorgram; and (4) fitting the sensorgrams to a binding equation to determine a measured concentration of the control; wherein the optical sensor surface is not immobilized with a ligand for the control and the contacting steps are performed under mass transport limitations.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for determining interaction kinetics for an analyte. The method comprises first contacting a solution containing the analyte with immobilized ligand, or analogue thereof, immobilized on an optical sensor surface; monitoring the binding of the analyte to the immobilized ligand or analogue, wherein the binding is measured as a resulting change in a property of the surface; and automatically determining the interaction kinetics, which determining step includes first defining parts of the dissociation phase that contains kinetic information for fitting. The invention further relates to an analytical system for studying molecular interactions, which system is capable of performing the novel method, as well as a computer program product for performing the steps of the method.

  • Patent number: 8795468
Abstract: The withdrawal screen section is for impregnation of chips during the manufacture of chemical pulp. Chips are steamed and impregnated in a low pressure impregnation vessel using pressurized hot spent cooking liquor BL. The spent cooking liquor produces most of the steam BLST necessary for steaming the chips. To reduce the need for adding fresh steam for chip steaming is a first withdrawal section in the impregnation vessel modified to be used both as a flash tank for warm pressurized wash filtrate and improved wash-out feature for the spent impregnation liquid behind the screen in the withdrawal section. The withdrawal volume is arranged with an upper part located above the liquid level LIQLEV of the impregnation vessel. Additional pressurized warm wash liquor REC1 is added to the withdrawal volume and flashed off steam is led in a steam duct to the chip volume above the liquid level.
