Abstract: A friction joint between mechanical elements, of which at least one has a mainly cylindrical surface, including a sleeve-means extending coaxially with the aforementioned cylindrical surface and which is per se capable of being adjusted axially along the cylindrical surface to selected axial relative positions in relation thereto, wherewith arranged substantially coaxially with the sleeve is a frusto-conical spring ring at least one peripheral surface of which abuts a peripheral surface on the sleeve-means and, under substantial reaction against said peripheral surface of said sleeve-means, is capable of being twisted or tilted by means of an axially adjustable ring pressing member acting against the spring ring.
