  • Publication number: 20230190767
Abstract: Methods and compositions for enhancing Wnt signaling pathway activities in a tissue of a subject have been developed for the treatment of cancer, in particular cancers with one or more mutations in the APC (adenomatous polyposis coli) gene. Preferably, the amount of the compositions for enhancing Wnt signaling does not reduce or inhibit proliferation or viability of normal healthy cells in the subject. In some embodiments, pharmaceutical compositions including an effective amount of one or more GSK-3 inhibitors are administered to reduce cancer cell proliferation or viability in a subject. A preferred GSK-3 inhibitor is LY2090314 encapsulated within, or associated with nanoparticles. Dosage forms of LY2090314 encapsulated within, or associated with nanoparticles for administration are also described.

Abstract: The present invention relates to cancer diagnostics and to compositions and methods for the identification of cancer therapeutics. In particular, the present invention provides compositions and methods for identifying therapeutic compounds that alter (e.g., eliminate or inhibit growth of) cancer stem cells without harming (e.g., that maintain (e.g., push into quiescence)) normal stem cells (e.g., in the same tissues). The present invention also provides compositions and methods for killing cancer stem cells and cancer cells.

  • Publication number: 20060184243
Abstract: A method increases the depth of focus of an eye having a line of sight. A pharmacologic agent is applied to the eye to cause a reduction in the size of the pupil of the eye. The pupil is aligned with a visible feature of a mask comprising a pin-hole aperture. The pin-hole aperture is centered on a mask axis. The alignment causes the mask axis to be substantially aligned with the line of sight of the eye. The mask is applied to the eye of the patient while maintaining the alignment of the visible feature of the mask and the pupil.
