  • Patent number: 5624548
Abstract: A straight run naphtha is fractionated to yield on intermediate naphtha and the heaviest 10-25 vol % as heavy naphtha. The heavy naphtha is subjected to hydrocracking to yield liquid fuel and lighter, including C.sub.4 isoparaffins and a cracked naphtha having a 90 vol % temperature (T90) of 310.degree. F. (155.degree. C.).

  • Patent number: 5437783
Abstract: Disclosed is a reforming process for the production of gasoline having an increased isoparaffin yield, reduced aromatics content and a constant octane level which comprises passing the gasoline precursor containing greater than 20 vol% aromatics over a reforming catalyst comprising one or more metals from Group VIII and IVA of the Periodic Table on an oxide support, having a total pore volume of about 0.300 to 0.600 cc/g and greater than 85% of the pore volume in pores of diameter less than 100.ANG..
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 10, 1994

  • Patent number: 5431812
Abstract: A feedstock composition comprising residuum fractions and deasphalter bottoms is formulated by use of a carbon residue characterization factor. It has been found in the feedstock composition that the character of carbon residue is determinative of the coke quality. The process is used to make coke having a sulfur concentration of 0.5 to 0.9 of the feedstock composition sulfur.

  • Patent number: 4351649
Abstract: A control system controls a plurality of gas dehydrators in which each dehydrator has a dessicant bed. The system includes sensors sensing parameters of gas entering and leaving each dehydrator which provide corresponding signals. First valve apparatus connected to each dehydrator receives moist gas. Second valve apparatus connected to each dehydrator provides for a discharging of dehydrated gas from each dehydrator in accordance with control signals. Third valve apparatus connected to each dehydrator receives regeneration gas and provides the regeneration gas to a dehydrator in accordance with control signals. Fourth valve apparatus connected to each dehydrator provides for the discharge of regeneration gas after passage through the dehydrator in accordance with control signals.
