  • Patent number: 6083263
Abstract: A hip-joint endoprosthesis is provided which has a prosthesis head (5) that can be medio-laterally displaced parallel to a tangent that rests on the lateral edge of the proximal femoral infundibulum of the hip-joint (b) and contacts the inner contour of the curved neck of the femur (b'). This hip-joint endoprosthesis allows the centre of rotation of the hip-joint to be reproducibly adjusted by means of an adjustable head (5). Toothings (12, 13, 15, 16) ensure a (fine) stepped adjustability of the displacement in the medio-lateral direction (B--B') and of the rotation around an axis (A--A) that is perpendicular to the plane of displacement (B--B'). Securing is allowed by a single screw (10) that braces the engaged toothings (12, 13, 15, 16) against each other. The height of the joint ball (6) mounted on the prosthesis head (5) via a cone (17) can be adjusted by joint balls (6) having pressed-in cones of varying depths.

  • Patent number: 6012553
Abstract: A mount for the safety device in a lift cage comprises an assembly for maintaining a catch system in a readiness position and for the movement thereof in at least one plane during the braking process. A catch housing is supported horizontally fixed in the readiness position and is held in the readiness position by a resilient plate lightly braced against the catch housing. When the safety device is triggered into a braking process the catch housing is urged upwardly against the resilient plate, out of the readiness position wherein the horizontal fixing is cancelled and self-centering of the catch housing in relation to the guide rails can occur. The transmission of braking/catching forces to the cage is damped and progressively sprung through the compression of the resilient plate.

  • Patent number: 5769183
Abstract: A drive unit (1,41,51) for a self-propelled elevator car (30) which travels along a pair of guide rails (27) is connected with a car-supporting structure (16) by rocker arms (15) and contact pressure springs (29). An electric motor (2,3,26,31) is coaxial with a wheel shaft (8) which extends therethrough and has a pair of drive wheels (10) mounted at the ends thereof. The motor housing (31) is connected to the axle tubes (11) by releasably attached motor flanges (12). The motor (2,3,26,31) drives the wheel axle (8) in rotation through a speed-reducing planetary gear (33) and a brake (32,34) which prevents rotation of the wheel axle (8) can be released selectively. An auxiliary drive (35,36,37) mounted on the motor (2,3,26,31) selectively rotates the wheel axle (8) in response to a power failure.

  • Patent number: 5713432
Abstract: A drive frame for a self-propelled elevator travelling on guide rail running surfaces (22) includes a car carrying frame (5,14,16,17,18) on which are mounted driving wheels (1) coupled to a drive unit (24) and supporting wheels (2). The driving wheels (1) are rotatably mounted on axle tubes (3) connected to the drive unit (24) and rocker arms (15) pivotally mounted on frame brackets (5). The supporting wheels (2) are rotatably mounted on an axle (12) mounted on axle carriers (4) extending from the frame brackets (5). The driving wheels (1) and the supporting wheels (2) are drawn into contact with the running surfaces (22) by spring cylinders (8) connected between the axle tubes (3) and the supporting wheel axle (12) and extending through lateral passages (13) formed in a frame crossbeam (14) connected between the frame brackets (5).

  • Patent number: 4033006
Abstract: Supporting apparatus for a portable bridge including a longitudinally telescoping bridge support leg having an intermediate support member at the free end thereof. A pair of foot plate members are pivotally supported at the intermediate support member and are connected by way of a lever linkage so as to pivot together when moving from a storage position with the undersides of plate members extending longitudinally of the leg and in-use positions with the undersides of the plate members extending transversely of the leg. Elastic band members are attached to the upper sides of the foot plate members to continuously apply a force tending to move the plate members to the in-use position. Rollers are provided at the upper sides of the plate members for engagement with bridge members to forcibly move the plate members to the storage position when the support leg is moved into a storage position underneath the bridge plate portion.

  • Patent number: 4015303
Abstract: Supporting apparatus for supporting bridge portions on a portable bridge of the type including a plurality of bridge portions movable from storage positions to positions of use connected to one another in series. The supporting apparatus includes two support legs spaced from one another and swingably supported at respective free ends of a pair of pivotally connected carrier sections. The support legs are further connected with one another by a hydraulic-cylinder arrangement arranged in bypassing relationship to the carrier sections with the holding element designed to absorb relative movement of the support legs resulting from the pivotal connection of the carrier section. Swinging devices are also provided at the free ends of each of the carrier sections for applying forcible swinging movement to the support legs so as to fold same from storage to in-use positions. The pivot axis of the support legs extend at an angle of less than 90.degree. with respect to the longitudinal extent of the support legs.
