Patent number: 10630656Abstract: A system for and method of media encapsulation is presented. The method may include receiving, via an audio digitizer, a plurality of packets of data and compressing, via a codec, the plurality of packets of data. The method may also include queuing the plurality of packets of data in a queue and encrypting, via a filter, payloads of at least two of the plurality of packets of data in the queue into a single payload. The method further include transmitting the single payload in a single encrypted data packet.Type: GrantFiled: December 23, 2016Date of Patent: April 21, 2020Assignee: KOOLSPAN, INC.Inventors: Emil Sturniolo, Anthony C. Fascenda, Robert Cichielo, Paul Benware, William Supernor, Orville Pike

Patent number: 7933615Abstract: A method interactive menus and sub-menus to a mobile device via SMS messaging in order to provide WAP like services at a fraction of the cost of CSD. Mobile Originated Interactive Menus are implemented as a feature of a Short Message Service Center (SMSC), thus leaving traffic channels available for voice calls. Interactive SMS menus allow service providers to offer targeted subscribers personalized messaging menus with multiple options for quick and easy access to Web-based content. Users may define the content and frequency they want, whether it is a scheduled delivery or on-demand for checking, e.g., stock quotes, local weather, and/or other Web-based news and information. Replacement of messages in TDMA and GSM mobile devices allow for heavy usage without filling up the user's phone buffer, i.e., prior messages may be overwritten, to assure that only the latest information is all that is being displayed and read.Type: GrantFiled: March 31, 2009Date of Patent: April 26, 2011Assignee: TeleCommunication Systems, Inc.Inventors: Daniel Hronek, Erik Wallace, Phillip Geil, Tom McCormick, Walter Weichselbaumer, Orville Pike, Mark Titus

Publication number: 20100029312Abstract: Internet Relay Chat is provided for mobile devices utilizing a mobile chat proxy server. The server exchanges message objects with a wireless Internet gateway using an IRC protocol. The server maintains a real-time proxy connection to a conventional IRC server for each mobile device. The proxy server interprets messages and determines whether to forward them to the conventional IRC server. The proxy server utilizes an RMI interface between the mobile chat proxy server and the wireless Internet gateway for sending messages to chat group participants. The proxy server also provides such enhancements as notification and/or summons commands, and allows mobile users to chat simultaneously. An SMSC forwards messages to the mobile chat proxy server and proxy server configures and validates users. After validating a mobile user, the mobile chat proxy server forwards IRC traffic from the mobile device to the conventional IRC server.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 27, 2009Publication date: February 4, 2010Inventors: Richard A. Smith, Orville A. Pike, Johanna Wilson

Patent number: 7640031Abstract: Two-way interactive short message system with personalized messaging menus that provide WAP like services at less cost than CSD. Mobile Originated Interactive Menus are implemented as a feature of a Short Message Service Center (SMSC). Each option guides either to the next menu level, or to a final action to be executed according to the path followed by the subscriber. Importantly, the mobile originated interactive menus use SMS communications instead of circuit switched data (CSD) (e.g., instead of WAP communications), thus leaving traffic channels available for voice calls. Users may define the content and frequency they want. Replacement of messages in TDMA and GSM mobile devices allow for heavy usage without filling up the user's phone buffer, i.e., prior messages may be overwritten, to assure that only the latest information is all that is being displayed and read.Type: GrantFiled: June 22, 2006Date of Patent: December 29, 2009Assignee: TeleCommunication Systems, Inc.Inventors: Daniel Hronek, Erik Wallace, Phillip Geil, Tom McCormick, Walter Weichselbaumer, Orville Pike, Mark Titus

Publication number: 20090191904Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing 2-way interactive short message system menus to a mobile device using text-based short messaging rather than WAP techniques. This provides the ability to provide WAP like services at a fraction of the cost of CSD. Mobile Originated Interactive Menus are implemented as a feature of a Short Message Service Center (SMSC). Each option guides either to the next menu level, or to a final action to be executed according to the path followed by the subscriber.
