    Abstract: The computer system provides a processing unit and normal-use and stand-by main storage units, pre-loads an application program and a control program required for executing the application program in both of the main storage units, in a normal operating time, functions the normal-use main storage unit only as the main storage under the control of the processing unit, executes the control program and the application program stored in the normal-use main storage unit, in a software-fault occurring time, functions the stand-by main storage unit only as the main storage unit under the control of the processing unit, and executes the control program and the application program stored in the stand-by main storage unit. Then, a recovery program contained in the application program stored in the stand-by main storage unit serves to recover the state of the application program into the state before fault occurs.

  • Enterprise information system having three level hierarchy of data bases and communication paths

    Abstract: An enterprise information system in which personal work stations, personal data bases which are held in the work stations, a processor only for use in a division, and intradivision data and interdivision data which are held in the processor are provided. An informal communication path directly connects the work stations in an enterprise among the divisions and an intradivision formal communication path mutually connects the work station in the division to the processor to hold the intradivision data base or the interdivision data base corresponding to the division or both of them. An interdivision formal communication path mutually connects the processors to hold the interdivision data bases. The intradivision data base can only be accessed by the intradivision formal communication path of the division.

    Abstract: A data management method and system of memo information utilizing a data base can store personal memo information at a high storage efficiency and a high retrieval efficiency without adding a retrieval key to the data base. The data management system may be constructed by connecting a work station having a file for storing memo information to an existing data base system. The system has keys for indicating records of the data base and storage addresses of the corresponding memo information as a connective index file, and refers to it to store, retrieve or delete the memo information. A plurality of memo information for the same record may be displayed on a display of the work station in a time sequence and the memo information are paged.
