  • Publication number: 20200341558
Abstract: A modulator of a distance measuring sensor unit 102 has a photographing pattern that includes a plurality of patterns different from each other, and modulates intensity of light. A gesture detecting unit divides image data obtained by receiving light transmitted through the modulator by the image sensor; restores an image by calculation based on a developing pattern corresponding to the photographing pattern in a divided unit; and obtains an image for detecting gesture of a user. This makes it possible to obtain an image of an object in an outside world without using a lens for forming an image. Therefore, it is possible to reduce a load on a user when the user wears the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 8789618
Abstract: A storage system having a plurality of optical disc devices allows other optical disc devices inside the storage system to reproduce the optical disc recorded by a certain optical disc device but inhibits optical disc devices outside the storage system to reproduce the optical disc. A device key as a base for generating an encryption key is common to the plurality of optical disc devices. In the optical disc devices, a guest key other than the device key can be used temporarily to generate the encryption key. An authentication list containing a reproduction condition is recorded with the key information to the optical disc.

  • Patent number: 8730771
Abstract: The present invention relates to a recording/reproducing device that records data on a double-sided recordable optical disk for storage and management purposes. The device includes a unit which stores a plurality of optical disks, a unit which records data onto and reproduces data from an upper side of an optical disk, a unit which records data onto and reproduces data from a lower side of an optical disk, a unit which conveys an optical disk between the disk storage unit and each recording/reproducing unit. When a request for reading data recorded on the lower side of the disk is received while the upper side is being written onto, a control unit interrupts a data recording process on the upper side, reproduces data recorded on the lower side, and after completion of reproducing the recorded data, resumes the interrupted data recording process.

  • Patent number: 8695024
Abstract: A magazine detachably installed in a main body of a disc changer is divided into sections by partitions for storing a large number of optical discs. The magazine is provided with a belt set around rollers, which carries the optical disc in contact with the belt. In the disc changer, the belt is rotated by a gear of the roller, which is engaged with an external drive gear for taking the optical disc through rotating movement. Among the optical discs which have been taken, a target optical disc opposite the slit of the disc control plate passes through the slit, and the other optical discs stop while abutting against the disc control plate. The optical disc which has passed through the slit is inserted into disc carriage rollers, and further carried to the drive for recording/reproducing.

  • Patent number: 8416660
Abstract: There is provided a method of calculating the degradation over time of the quality of data recorded on an optical disk in a short time. In the method, when user data is recorded on a data area, a test signal including a component in which the signal level is smaller than a reference value, is recorded on a test area. Then, the test signal is reproduced from the test area when a predetermined time has passed, to calculate the quality degradation of the user data from the evaluation result. Alternatively, every time when the user data is recorded/reproduced on/from the data area, the test signal is recorded/reproduced repeatedly on/from the test area. Then, the test signal is reproduced from the test area at a predetermined timing, to calculate the quality degradation of the user data from the evaluation result.

  • Patent number: 8407533
Abstract: A digital data recording/reproducing method includes the steps of: interleaving data on a PI code for each PI code of a 208-row ECC block; and converting a short burst error into random errors by dispersing errors on the PI codes. Moreover, the digital data recording/reproducing method increases correction capability against several bytes to several tens bytes of errors generated at random without changing burst error correction length by performing this processing for respective PI codes by using interleave rules that are different as much as possible from one another.

  • Patent number: 8369194
Abstract: Even when recording data which is continuously inputted at a high speed, it is possible to correct a recording error and reproduce preferable AV data without a noise upon reproduction. A recording error detection circuit (14) detects an error generation upon recording according to the fluctuation of amplitude of a tracking error signal or a focus error signal. A recording signal processing circuit (6) again records (performs skip recording) the same data in a region subsequently adjacent to a region where a recording error has occurred. When performing the skip recording, address information contained in the recording data is rewritten into address information on a new recording region. Moreover, an identifier (skip mark) indicating that a recording error has occurred is added to the pattern of the link region of the recording data.

  • Patent number: 8356235
Abstract: If a large minimum data unit for recorded data is used to record a small data amount of management information, the recording time is long, and furthermore when a WO (write once) is used as the recording medium, the number of recording operations is restricted. To solve the above problems, the present invention records data in a management area in units smaller than ordinary units for recorded data to suitably record information in a limited management area and thereby efficiently use the user data area. At that time, the present invention simplifies interleave processing usually applied to ordinary recorded data, and performs the simplified interleave processing on a data structure (for data of small size) of the present invention so as to ensure the signal processing compatibility between the ordinary data and data having the data structure according to the present invention.
