  • Patent number: 5806448
Abstract: An overlock sewing machine which can readily form a rolled seam with no requirement for a complicated tension adjusting operation is disclosed. In this overlock sewing machine, an auxiliary thread tensioner (15) is provided independently of a main thread tensioner (4), providing a lower looper thread (9) with thread tension which is necessary for forming an over-edge chain stitch, in the vicinity thereof. An end cam (25) is provided on a shaft (13) of a dial (12) for feed adjustment, so that an upper pawl (23) rams one portion of the peripheral edge of a tension disc (20) and expands a side which is opposed thereto for canceling tension provision to the lower looper thread (9) passed through tension discs and provides the tension only by the main thread tensioner (4) to carry out an ordinary over-edge chain stitch when a lower pawl (24) is engaged with a high lift part of the end cam (25).

  • Patent number: 5711238
Abstract: An overlock sewing machine which can switch its operation from an ordinary over-edge chain stitch to a rolled seam or vice versa with no requirement for a complicated operation of adjusting thread tension is obtained. This overlock sewing machine is provided with a spring for providing a thread with prescribed tension. The overlock sewing machine is further provided with a switching mechanism for switching the thread tension between that for the rolled seam and that for the over-edge chain stitch by switching the spring between a tensioning state and a non-tensioning state. Thus, the thread tension is readily switched between that for the rolled seam and that for the over-edge chain stitch.

  • Patent number: 5475089
Abstract: A thrombolytic peptide composed of 136 amino acids residues, which has little problems of antigenicity and is efficacious in only small doses as compared with staphylokinase (SAK). This peptide is obtained by cleaving amino acids or peptides which do not affect the activity of SAK by using a trypsin protease. In particular, SAK-11, which is obtained by cleaving a peptide composed of ten amino acid residues at the N-terminal of SAK, is superior to SAK in the fibrinolysis, plasminogen activation, and fibrin specificity.

  • Patent number: 4752603
Abstract: A new plasminogen activator which is very similar to the plasminogen activator from blood can be isolated in good amounts from the culture fluid of human melanoma cells. This new plasminogen activator has a strong thrombolytic effect and pharmaceutical compositions thereof may be used in the therapeutic treatment of thrombosis disorders.

  • Patent number: 4271967
Abstract: A system of sorting elongated pieces such as asparagus, wherein each of the elongated pieces are successively conveyed by a conveyer and detected as a still image by a sensor such as a TV camera. In processing a signal representative of the still image a stem diameter of the piece and a ratio of the spike maximum diameter of the piece to the stem diameter are obtained as sorting out factors by calculation. When the calculation values of the sorting out factors satisfy predetermined reference values, the piece is further sorted out according to size. The stem diameter is measured at a position which is spaced from the cut end of the stem by a predetermined dimension toward the spike thereof.
