Abstract: A travel history collection system includes a terminal side device and a center side device capable of communicating with the terminal device. The terminal device includes the following components. A vehicle information acquisition part acquires a travel history of a vehicle. A short-range wireless communication means and a wide-range wireless communication means are used to transmit the acquired travel history to a center device. A travel history transmission part transmits the travel history to the center device via the short-range wireless communication means when the travel history can be transmitted via the short-range wireless communication means, and via the wide-range wireless communication means when the travel history cannot be transmitted via the short-range wireless communication means.

Abstract: A transmitting/receiving unit receives vehicle information including type and speed of a vehicle and position information about present position of the vehicle sent from a terminal device carried on the vehicle. A vehicle control information generating unit generates vehicle control information for controlling vehicles statistically formed for each type of vehicle on the basis of the vehicle information and the position information. A storage unit stores the vehicle control information. On the basis of position information sent from the terminal device, the vehicle control information with respect to the traveling direction of the vehicle is sent to the terminal device from the storage unit and the traveling of the vehicle is thus controlled.

A decision is made as to whether or not a voltage of the electric power from the power supply drops below a predetermined reference level. When it is decided that the voltage of the electric power from the power supply drops below the predetermined reference level, an auxiliary battery is used as at least part of the power supply.
