  • Patent number: 4963974
Abstract: The present invention relates to an electroless gold plating solution, a method of plating by using the same, and an electronic device plated with gold by using the same.According to the present electroless gold plating solution, the plating solution components contain no cyanide ions, the amount of a reducing agent used is small, and gold plating can be carried out without causing the gold plating on conducting paths having a fine interval between them to short-circuit the conducting paths. Therefore, according to the method of gold plating by using said electroless gold plating solution, a plating method that is safe in the plating work and in the treatment of its waste liquor can be accomplished. The method has a feature that the method can provide an electronic device on which parts can be mounted highly densely, and wherein the joint reliability to the parts is high.

  • Patent number: 4916676
Abstract: An electronic timepiece is provided having a display. An actuator provides rotational energy for driving the display. An energy storage unit stores the energy of the actuator and applies it to the display. A link connects the actuator to the display. A control unit connected to the display by a second link controls the driving the display by controlling the application of energy to the display by the storage unit. The control unit includes a magnet, a power generating yoke and a power generating coil about the yoke.

  • Patent number: 4912689
Abstract: A timepiece includes a hairspring for storing the energy provided by a step motor driving circuit and a rotor immersed in a viscous fluid controls the energy released by the hairspring to provide a constant driving force for turning the display hands of the timepiece. Compensating circuitry varies the strength of a driving signal supplied to the step motor to minimize the adverse influence of variations in the load torque due to changes in ambient temperature and/or additional loads associated with a calendar mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4910721
Abstract: A timepiece includes a hairspring for storing the energy provided by a step motor driving circuit and a rotor immersed in a viscous fluid controls the energy released by the hairspring to provide a constant driving force for turning the display hands of the timepiece. A frequency divider circuit counts the number of clock signals produced by an oscillator. During time correction when the hands are prevented from being driven by the energy stored in the hairspring the frequency divider retains at least a portion of the count. A recoil torque provided by the hairspring and a load torque provided by the rotor are substantially balanced at all times including immediately after the time correction activities. Time delay especially immediately following the time correction activities is avoided.

  • Patent number: 4885730
Abstract: An electronic timepiece provides continuous rotation for a hand in response to a discrete driving rotation. An energy storage mechanism is coupled to the discrete driving rotation and converts the discrete driving rotation into stored energy. A control mechanism continuously releases the stored rotational energy as continuous rotation. A linkage coupled between the energy storage mechanism and control mechanism transmits continuous rotation therebetween and drives the hand in a continuous sweeping manner.

  • Patent number: 4880464
Abstract: An electroless gold plating solution comprising a thiosulfato gold(I) complex, a thiosulfate, thiourea, a pH regulator and a stabilizer. The electroless gold plating solution shows a plating rate and a plating solution stability comparable to those of conventional gold plating solutions containing cyanide ions, and requires a smaller amount of reducing agent to be used therein. Further, the electroless gold plating solution is safe because it does not contain cyanide ions.

  • Patent number: 4864442
Abstract: In magnetic read/write apparatus having a media hub (2) made of magnetic material provided with a magnetic disk (1) and a package so as to cover the magnetic disk with a shell, to position the media hub (2) in the axial direction is performed by attaching an end of a spindle hub (17) to a media hub (2), and to position the media hub in the radial direction is performed by attaching the inner side of a center core (4) integrally formed with the media hub (2) to the periphery of the spindle hub (17). Furthermore, a driving pin (21) for contacting the media hub (2) with the spindle hub (17) is provided at the end of the media hub (2) and in the inner side of the center core (4), thereby, making it possible to provide a small-sized spindle hub and an excellent head contact.

  • Patent number: 4839760
Abstract: A disk cartridge having a cleaning mechanism. The disk cartridge comprises a disk for peripheral storage of computer and a hard shell which is made of plastic and contains the disk.A liner is disposed between a disk and a shell. An opening is provided in one part of shell and a plate is disposed in the opening to press a liner. In order to press the plate, a pressure means such as a spring is provided in a read/write apparatus. As a result, dust is completely removed from the disk.Further, a pressure means for pressing the liner is provided outside of a shell, maintaining the stable pressure of spring for a long time. As a result, disk is improved in reliability.

  • Patent number: 4765528
Abstract: Before Au-plating onto the metallic surface of an electronic part, Ni-plating and then Co-plating are applied to form a primer coating for Au-plating. But in the steps of Ni and Co-platings, hydrogen gas produced during the plating is occluded into a plating layer. On the other hand, when a pellet connected onto an Au-plated metal, an Au-Si alloy is formed, but hydrogen gas in the plating layer remains as voids in the Au-Si alloy during a subsequent heating step of the electronic part, resulting in a serious defect. This invention of a plating method is characterized by annealing after Au-plating of an electronic part to eliminate the residual gas.

  • Patent number: 4324629
Abstract: During recyclic use of a chemical copper plating solution, counter anions to copper ions, anions formed by oxidation of a reducing agent, and carbon dioxide by absorption of carbon dioxide from air, which all have an inhibiting effect upon the plating, and also sodium ions having no inhibiting effect are accumulated in the plating solution. These accumulated ions can be removed by electrodialysis. Particularly, regeneration can be satisfactorily regenerated by adjusting the pH of used chemical plating solution to 2-11 before the electrodialysis, and using a selectively monovalent anion permeable membrane as an anion exchange membrane at the electrodialysis.

  • Patent number: 4310563
Abstract: The pH of a chemical copper plating solution is exactly measured for a prolonged time by utilizing a copper oxide prepared by etching metallic copper in an 0.1-1 N inorganic acid then oxidizing the etched metallic copper in an aqueous 0.1-1 N alkali metal hydroxide solution as a main electrode for pH measurement or reducing agent concentration measurement in terms of pH.A combination of the pH measurement with well known procedures for measuring concentrations of cupric ions and a complexing agent exactly measures the pH and the concentrations of a reducing agent, cupric ions and a complexing agent for a continuation of longer time than the conventional procedures.
