Abstract: A blade type focal plane shutter comprising a main arm, an auxiliary arm pin-slot-connected to the main arm, a main opaque lamina for forming an exposure slit pivoted on the main arm and pin-slot-connected to the auxiliary arm, and a plurality of auxiliary opaque laminae for covering an exposure aperture rotatably supported by a common shaft and pin-slot-connected to the main arm wherein the main lamina is made of material high in mechanical strength such as steel and the auxiliary laminae are made of such comparatively light material as plastics, aluminum, titanium, beryllium or a composite of them, to make the shutter small and to reduce the weight of the entire shutter blade assembly. Among the plurality of auxiliary laminae, one lamina to be used to support the main lamina is made of a material high in mechanical strength.

Abstract: A shutter for cameras comprising a control cam, a starting lever to be used to release the control cam in the cocked state and bring a gear governor into an operatable state, a governor lever engageable with the control cam to operate the gear governor and a stopper capable of absorbing the inertia force of the governor lever to stop the motion of the governor lever, so that the gear governor for controlling the shutter speed may always operate positively over a long period and the operating sound of the shutter may be made low.

Abstract: A focal plane shutter comprising a pair of upper arms rotatably supported on a shutter base plate and arranged with a spacing between them, a pair of lower arms overlapped respectively on said pair of upper arms with a spacing, three main shutter blades respectively supported by said upper arms so as to have overlapped portions even when developed between the respective pairs of upper arms and lower arms, and two auxiliary shutter blades respectively supported by the lower arms so as to overlap on the above mentioned overlapped portions when developed between the respective pairs of the upper arms and lower arms, in order to make the entire shutter device or particularly the dimensions in the vertical direction smaller. Tail portions are formed respectively at the free ends of the main shutter in the middle and the auxiliary shutter blades.

Abstract: A focal plane shutter comprising a pair of upper arms rotatably supported on a shutter base plate, a pair of lower arms provided as opposed to the respective upper arms so as to be rotatable concentrially respectively with the pair of upper arms and a plurality of shutter blades of which some are supported by the upper arms and the remainder are supported by the lower arms between the respective pairs of upper arms and lower arms, whereby the dimensions in the horizontal direction and vertical direction of the entire shutter device can be made smaller.
