  • Patent number: 5039849
Abstract: A card conveying structure for card accessing devices, comprising: a casing defining a card inlet and a card guideway; a drive pulley and a driven pulley supported on one side of the card guideway by a first pivot axis and a second pivot axis, respectively, defining a zero or small angle relative to a vertical line perpendicular to a major surface of a card guided by the guideway; and an endless belt passed around the two pulleys, effective diameters of the first and second pulleys being selected in relation with spacings of the pivot axes relative to the card guideway so that a linear span ofthe belt may extend along the guideway and abut the major surface of the card. By urging the linear span of the belt against the card, the card may be conveyed by the movement of the belt. Alternatively, by slanting at least one of the pulleys towards the guideway until its periphery or the belt passed around it comes into contact with the card, the movement of the belt or the pulley can be transmitted to the card.

  • Patent number: 4828417
Abstract: A printer housing which can be adapted for both cut sheet printing paper and continuous printing paper without replacing any of its paper guide members with any external paper guide members. The printer housing comprises a first cover which is pivotably supported at its front end and a second cover which is povoted to the first cover at its middle part and can cover an opening in the upper face of the printer housing main body by complementing the first cover. When the second cover is thus covering the upper opening of the printer housing main body in cooperation with the first cover, the printer housing is adapted for continuous printing paper. When the second cover is brought to an oblique position, the second cover can serve as a guide for feeding cut sheet printing paper into the printer. The printer is preferably provided with a tractor feeder which can be thrown backward to be out of way for cut sheet printing paper and to support the second cover at its oblique position.

  • Patent number: 4723697
Abstract: A tractor feeder for feeding continuous printing paper having perforations along its side fringes by driving pins engaged to the perforations. The pins are formed on the outer surface of an endless belt which is passed around a drive sprocket on one hand and a guide member on the other hand. The guide member is adjustable by an adjusting member such as an eccentric cam so as to apply a desired tension to the endless belt. The guide member may be provided with a roller rotatively supported by the guide member or a pair of rollers rotatively supported by the frame so as to minimize the friction to the traveling motion of the endless belt. These pulleys may be provided with flanges so that friction between the side edges of the endless belt and the guide member may be minimized.
