  • Patent number: 5067892
Abstract: A device for ejecting a workpiece from a die having a two-armed ejector lever, the drive-side arm of which can be driven by driving rods. The ejector-side arm acts upon an ejector slide. The ejector lever is adjustable for changing the ejector lift. In order to integrate the compensation for different ejection lengths into the ejector lever, the working plane on the drive side and the take-off plane on the ejector side are to be arranged in parallel to the adjustability of the ejector lever. On the other hand, the ejector lever must have a different width in the area between the take-off plane and the bearing which supports the ejector lever during the forming, for projections of different lengths at the workpieces. The width is obtained from the distance of the take-off plane in ejector position of the ejector lever from the bearing minus the length of the ejector lift in this position.

  • Patent number: 4761986
Abstract: An arrangement for the transport of workpieces in a multi-stage deformation press in which the workpieces are to be seized by gripping tongs and are to be transferred in the deformation stages. The gripping tong consists essentially of a base body which is displaced in the direction of a deflection movement by way of a coupling rod. The base body carries a pivot support in which the gripping arms are rotatably supported in pivot joints. The areas of the gripping arms remote from the workpiece are pivotally connected at the base body by way of a coupling member. Within the area of the pivotal connection, the gripping arms carry rollers which are placed from the outside against curved regions of a cam plate by way of a compression spring between the base body and the pivot support. One cam region is on the shape of a circular arc about the pivot bearing so that a larger closing and opening movement is imposed on the gripping arms.

  • Patent number: 4530148
Abstract: A tool changing mechanism for an automatic changing of tools for a press ram and die of a forming press such as a multistage metal forming press. The tool changing mechanism includes a magazine having holders for accommodating individual tools. The individual tools have different codings and the holders have electrical or electronic code reading devices associated therewith and connected to a comparator for comparing the codes measured or read by the code reading devices with the preset code means in the comparator. Upon a deviation of a measured code from the preset coding in the comparator, the comparator provides an indication of the deviation by transmitting an error signal so as to enable an avoiding of the occurrence or errors in the filling or charging of the magazine with tools. The code reading device may be constructed as series-type limit switches operating without contact and the codes on the respective tools may be fashioned as indentations or recesses provided in the tools.

  • Patent number: 4344312
Abstract: An adjustable cam arrangement is provided for controlling various work handling elements of a multistage press. Releasable cam disc members are mounted on a camshaft for actuating a respective cam follower associated with a work handling element. The cam disc members are drivingly coupled to the camshaft in response to a supply of fluid pressure. The cam disc members contain a pair of cam discs adjustable by a motor for independently rotating the cam discs relative to the camshaft for varying the duration and timing of work handling elements.

  • Patent number: 4307600
Abstract: A forming press is disclosed having a press frame, a slidable press carriage, and at least one tool couple comprising a plunger and a matrix. A pressure member is movable in the direction of motion of the press carriage for bracing the plunger against the press carriage. A screw controlled adjustment means including a motor is mounted on the press frame for driving the screw of the adjustment means and thereby positioning the pressure member. A drive gear is mounted on the screw, and coupling means is provided for connecting the motor and the drive gear at a predetermined position of the press carriage.

  • Patent number: 4118058
Abstract: A tool for the contact-free support of discs by gas streams impinging on discs when emerging from the supporting face of the tool at an acute angle to the disc surface, which comprises a body having a supporting face, bores within said body for connection with an extraneous gas reservoir, means in said body directed at an acute angle with respect to the supporting face for discharge of gas flowing from the reservoir, said flow-through means consisting of nozzles or recesses being position at equal distance from each other on the surface of a cone whose base is enclosed by a circle concentric with an imaginary circle on the supporting face, said circle having a diameter of 0.2-0.6 supporting face-diameters, the cone having an angle of 20.degree.-150.degree. at the apex, and wherein the distance of the flow-through means on the surface of the cone is from 2/3r.pi. to 0r, measured at the periphery of the circle, and the radial widths of the flow-through means in the supporting face are about 0.
