  • Publication number: 20240125260
Abstract: The invention relates to a heating module for an exhaust gas system of an internal combustion engine, said heating module comprising at least one inlet opening and at least one outlet opening by means of which the heating module can be connected to the exhaust gas system, wherein a main line and a secondary line are provided between the inlet opening and the outlet opening to guide an exhaust gas flowing through the heating module, said main line and secondary line being in connection with one another at their upstream ends via a branching section and at their downstream ends via a merging chamber. A control device for controlling the exhaust gas flow flowing through the main line is further provided in the main line. The heating module is characterized in that the heating module comprises an oxidation catalyst that is at least sectionally arranged in the merging chamber. The invention further relates to a corresponding method.

  • Patent number: 11339699
Abstract: An apparatus for aftertreatment of exhaust gases of an internal combustion engine, with a housing through which the exhaust gas can flow from an inlet to an outlet, a flow path spatially delimited in a radial direction and through which gases can flow in an axial direction arranged inside the housing, a catalytic converter in the flow path, and a heating element arranged in the flow path for electrically heating the exhaust gas. An annular gap through which gases can flow is formed between the flow path and the inner wall of the housing. The distribution of the exhaust gas mass flow between the flow path and the annular gap is influenced by a control element.

  • Publication number: 20180371973
Abstract: Exhaust gas after-treatment arrangement and method for operating an exhaust gas after-treatment arrangement The invention relates to an exhaust gas after-treatment arrangement having an exhaust line 1 and at least one exhaust gas after-treatment device 2, which has a honeycomb body 5 forming a flow surface for the exhaust gas. The honeycomb body 5 is a hollow cylinder having a central channel 7, wherein the one movable element 9, 15 is arranged in such a way that the movable element can be moved between two end positions, wherein in the first end position a larger cross section of the channel 7 is exposed than in the second end position.
