  • Publication number: 20220249015
Abstract: An improved sleep onset/offset detection method based on a compact neural network that runs in a wearable device processing sensor data in near real-time, which means accumulating data from a few minutes instead of seconds before starting predictions.
    Type: Application
    Filed: March 16, 2021
    Publication date: August 11, 2022
Applicant: SAMSUNG ELETRÔNICA DA AMAZÔNIA LTDA.
Inventors: Antonio Joia Neto, Felipe Marinho Tavares, Paulo Augusto Alves Luz Viana, Vitor Fernando Da Silva Alquati, Matheus De Souza Ataide, Lin Tzy Li, Daniel Eiji Higa, Otávio A.B. Penatti
  • Patent number: 11386598
Abstract: A method and system for the recognition of sensor data, like an accelerometer and a gyroscope. The method includes data/feature enrichment before a learning process. Thus, the learning process can benefit from better data, which includes both raw sensor data and enriched data/features. As a consequence, classification models may become less complex without harming accuracy and, therefore, can be more easily deployed to mobile devices, consuming less processing power and battery.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 12, 2018
Date of Patent: July 12, 2022
Assignees: SAMSUNG ELECTRONICA DA AMAZONIA LTDA., UNIVERSIDADE FEDERAL DE MINAS GERAIS-UFMG.
Inventors: Otávio A. B. Penatti, Milton F. S. Santos, Artur Jordão Lima Correia, William Robson Schwartz, Leonardo Antônio Borges Torres, Priscila Louise Ribeiro Aguirre

  • Patent number: 9699476
Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method for efficiently generating images and videos as an array of objects of interest (e.g., faces and hands, plates, etc.) in a desired resolution to perform vision tasks, such as face recognition, facial expression analysis, detection of hand gestures, among others. The composition of such images and videos takes into account the similarity of objects in the same category to encode them more effectively, providing savings in terms of time transmission and storage. Transmission time is less advantage to such a system in terms of efficiency, while less low cost storage means for storing data.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 20, 2015
Date of Patent: July 4, 2017
Assignee: SAMSUNG ELETRÔNICA DA AMAZÔNIA LTDA.
