  • Patent number: 5203486
Abstract: A crank drive for the material feeder of a machine tool is constructed so that the position of the crank pin along a line of action thereof, viewed in a position/time curve of the crank pin, is a modified sine curve, which curve is modified in that the peaks of the sine curve are flattened. To achieve this, the crank pin is adjustable relative to a crank disc on the one hand by a basic eccentricity setting device and on the other hand by an eccentricity correcting device. The eccentricity correcting device comprises cams mounted stationarily on the bearing arrangement of the crank disc and a cam follower engaging the cams. The cam follower acts on a main slide movably guided on the crank disc. The basic eccentricity setting device is effective between the main slide and a secondary slide carrying the crank pin. The secondary slide is guided on the main slide.

  • Patent number: 5167358
Abstract: A material loading apparatus for material working machines comprises loading slide elements for stepwise conveying one of a wire and strip material guided in a main guide along a guidance direction. The loading slide elements having a controlled slide-mounted material clamping device, an oscillating drive connected to the loading slide elements and a controlled material holding device. Stopping of the material clamping device at its extreme positions along the main guide is achieved via slide abutments. A resilient transmission system is provided in the driving connection between the oscillating drive and the slide-mounted clamping device. The loading slide elements have, in connection with oscillating drive, a main slide guided in a main guide and a secondary slide provided on the main slide and capable of moving substantially parallel to the main guide.

  • Patent number: 5113408
Abstract: A laser (2e), particularly a CO.sub.2 gas laser, is described which has a stimulating path supported on a common carrier (74e) and sub-divided into a plurality of partial paths. The partial paths (46) extend solely radially in relation to a common center (6e) and are connected to one another optically in pairs via deflecting mirrors (10e) and optical connecting paths (12e) between the deflecting mirrors (10e) at their radially outer ends. The laser (2e) is of very compact construction, has a high output and functions very reliably. Heat expansions of component of the resonator beam extend substantially radially of the center (6e) and do not result in maladjustment of the resonator beam.

  • Patent number: 4916929
Abstract: For the production of arc elements of disc form a metal strip of wedge form is rolled on edge around an axis of curvature, the metal strip side faces, which converge on one another in wedge form, being rendered parallel. The invention relates to a method for the production of a part-circular arc element the cross-sectional area of which--considered in a section containing the axis of curvature--possesses a, preferably longer, extent in the radial direction and a, preferably shorter, extent in the axial direction and the side faces of which, which are perpendicular to the axis of curvature, are substantially plane-parallel, especially of a check flange for a plain bearing shell.

  • Patent number: 4684203
Abstract: In connection with a small-sized contact pin package for engagement with a plug socket of approximately circular cross-section, it is proposed that the contact pin package should comprise a basic pin, whose cross-section is elongate, over at least a partial section of its length, with a long cross-sectional axis, whose length corresponds approximately to the inside diameter of the plug socket, and with a short cross-sectional axis, and that there should be provided, on at least one of the basic pin partial section lateral surfaces which are vertical to the short cross-sectional axis, a contact spring subjected to bending, which spring extends in the longitudinal direction of the basic pin and is supported on this lateral surface and is conductively connected to the basic pin and is dimensioned with the circumference of the plug socket for electric contact engagement with radial tension.

  • Patent number: 4580329
Abstract: A workpiece processing machine comprises a stationary main frame 10 with at least one main processing plane G. On the one side of this main processing plane there are arranged worm shafts 15, 16, 17 and 18 extending with their axes substantially parallel with the main processing plane G, mounted in the stationary main frame 10 and connected for drive with one another. On the other side of the main processing plane G there are provided securers for the securing of processing units 25 on the stationary main frame 10. To each worm shaft there is allocated at least one main power take-off position 15a, 16a, 17a, 18a for the drive connection of a processing unit 25 with the respective worm shaft 15, 16, 17, 18 through a worm wheel, meshing with the worm shaft, with worm wheel axis perpendicular to the main processing plane G. At least three worm shafts connected for drive are arranged along mutually adjoining sides of a polygonal line.

  • Patent number: 4419800
Abstract: A cage for a frusto-conical roller bearing is formed of a punched flat material strip so that an elongated bar extends along one side of the punched strip with a number of bars extending transversely outwardly from the elongated bar with the ends of these bars being free. As a result of the punching step a number of windows are formed closed on three sides but open on the fourth side opposite the elongated bar. The transversely extending bars are bent out of the plane of the elongated bar. When the punched strip is free into a ring the free ends of the transversely extending bars are located on a circle having a different diameter than the diameter into which the elongated bar is rolled. Another bar is rolled into a ring and is connected to the free ends of the transversely extending bars.

  • Patent number: 4203477
Abstract: A material working machine includes a plurality of workplates each capable of supporting one or more working units. The working units can be swung or rotated about an axis extending perpendicularly to the surface of the workplate. Each working unit mounts a tool carrier displaceable in a rectilinear manner into the path of a material across the workplates. At least two of the workplates extend angularly relative to one another and the angular position can be adjusted. One or two of the workplates form a slot adjacent the path of the material being worked and the tool carrier on a working unit mounted on a workplate not forming the slot is positioned to extend through the slot for effecting an operation on the material being worked.

  • Patent number: 4186581
Abstract: A tool carriage for a machine tool is mounted on a support for movement between a working position and a rest position. The machine drive moves the carriage in a path from the rest position into the working position and thereafter permits return to the rest position. A spring interposed between the carriage and the support is stressed during carriage movement into the working position so that the stressed spring biases the carriage to return to the rest position. An auxiliary return device supplements the biasing force of the spring and thereby augments the force available for returning the carriage toward the rest position at least in a position of the carriage adjacent the working position.

  • Patent number: 4167239
Abstract: Continuous, elongated material is fed lengthwise in steps by clamping devices of which one is stationary on supporting structure, the other is reciprocated. Each device includes clamping jaws backed by a fluid-operated jack and return springs in such a manner that the stationary jack is spring-biased toward the clamping position, and the reciprocating jack is spring-biased toward the material-releasing position, both jacks being operated intermittently, against the restraint of the return springs by the simultaneously supplied pressure fluid. The return spring in the reciprocating jack is weaker than that in the stationary jack. The springs may be replaced by equivalent pneumatic devices.

  • Patent number: 4132106
Abstract: In each cycle of a sequence of repetitive cycles a longitudinal section of an elongated, continuous piece of material spaced from the free end of the piece is draped about an arcuate face of a mandrel by a bending tool moving about the axis of curvature of the mandrel face, and the free end of the piece is thereby engaged with the arcuate face of another mandrel and secured to the other mandrel, whereupon the section draped over the first mandrel is cut. The central portion of the blank severed thereby from the continuous piece is draped over the second mandrel bent into a ring, the curvature of the leading and trailing blank portion, being due to previous draping over the first mandrel.
