  • Patent number: 5351776
Abstract: The invention is directed to an control system for a motor vehicle and includes: a plurality of control elements coacting for carrying out control tasks with reference to engine power, drive power and braking operation, respectively, and a plurality of coordinating elements for coordinating the coaction of the first elements to effect a control of operating performance of the motor vehicle in correspondence to a request of the driver. The elements are arranged in the form of a plurality of hierarchial levels. At least one of the coordinating elements of one of the hierarchial levels is adapted for acting on the elements of an adjacent hierarchial level when translating the request of the driver into a corresponding operating performance of the motor vehicle thereby acting on a pregiven subordinate system of the driver-vehicle system while providing the performance required from the higher hierarchial level for this subordinate system.

  • Patent number: 5222110
Abstract: The electronic counter for counting a periodic clock signal generated at a preset clock frequency (f.sub.o) includes a clock circuit generating the periodic clock signal at the preset clock frequency (f.sub.o); an adjustable frequency divider (4) having an output (8), a first input (5) and a second input (7), the first input of the frequency divider (4) being connected to the clock circuit (6) so as to receive the periodic clock signal and the second input (7) of the frequency divider being connected to receive a cycle speed signal (n), the frequency divider (4) containing means to produce a pulsed output signal at a divider output frequency (c.sub.o); a tracking circuit (T) connected to the output (8) of the frequency divider (4) to receive the pulsed output signal at the divider output frequency (c.sub.

  • Patent number: 4488299
Abstract: An address and data bus connects a multiplicity of ports into which test modules can be inserted with a microcomputer controlled by a keyboard for performing tests on circuit boards or other electronic units through test plugs that are interconnected with the data ports where the test modules are plugged in. When the test system is put into operation, all of the ports of the data bus are addressed to produce an indication of which ports are occupied by test modules as well as of the nature of the test modules. When it is desired to produce a test, each step of the procedure is performed by operation of a keyboard with reference to available options presented on the computer display on the basis of the configuration of test modules that have been plugged in. Coupling fields are interposed between data ports designed to receive test modules utilizing analog circuits and a test connector for connection to equipment under test.

  • Patent number: 4282747
Abstract: A system is disclosed which allows operating parameters of an internal combustion engine to be accurately and speedily determined without tedious readjustment of the engine speed. In one embodiment, a predetermined engine speed is selected at which measurements are to take place. In the second embodiment the measurements are taken at regular intervals within the speed range of the engine.

  • Patent number: 4043676
Abstract: A photometer for measuring the light transparency of a substance. A light beam is provided for illuminating a substance, which light beam passes through the substance and strikes a photoelement and produces a measuring current. The voltage generated from the measuring current is logarithmated by a converter circuit and is supplied to an indicating instrument for indicating a measured value. A zero balance control circuit is provided for controlling the voltage applied to the indicating instrument so that the indicating instrument will return to a value determined by a previous measuring of a calibrated substance. If the transparency of the measured substance is identical to the transparency of the calibrated substance, the indicating device will return to a zero value. A value other than zero will indicate the difference in transparency of the measured substance from the calibrated substance.

  • Patent number: 4003662
Abstract: A photometer for measuring the light permeability of a material for testing is made portable for hand-held operation outside a laboratory for measurements such as determining the proportion of hemoglobin in human blood. It includes a battery power supply that energizes a lamp, an opening for receiving a cuvet for a measurement, and a measuring circuit having a light-sensitive element. An indicator instrument in the measuring circuit indicates zero compensation, and a manually movable wedge filter is in the path of the light beam for adjusting the light passing through the cuvet. A manually operable element effects a zero compensation of the measuring circuit before a test is made, and a viewable scale on a setting member carrying the wedge filter directly displays a test result value from adjustment of the wedge filter during measurement of the material.
