  • Patent number: 4753097
Abstract: A universal rolling stand has horizontally oriented rolls mounted in upper and lower roll mounts, as well as vertically oriented rolls mounted in roll mounts such that the respective axes of all rolls extend in a common plane. A biparted center frame in the stand has a plane of partitioning coinciding with the common plane. Tie rods releasably interconnect the two frame halves; slide structure on the frame halves permit therein separation in opposite directions upon release of the tie rods; and the upper and lower roll mounts are releasably mounted to the frame halves by means of additional tie rods. Upper and lower roll mounts are independently supportable upon release from the frame halves. The roll mounts can be placed on rails underneath.

  • Patent number: 4487540
Abstract: A feed roller table with rollers (11a) is divided into partial widths (A and B). The rolled shapes to be stacked are passed onto the feed table in layers of different numbers of bars n and n-1 and are braked during bar movement by elevation of braking skids (38 and 41). The skids of one series of braking skids (41) are designed to function as turnover magnets and may be rotated 168.degree. to a position above another series of skids (38) in order that de-energization of the turnover magnet braking skids (41) will permit an interlocked layer of rolled shapes to be formed on the other braking skids (38). This double layer of bars is picked up by horizontally shiftable receiving magnets (43) and deposited on stacking table arms (49) which index downward into a position (49') below the level of the stacking roller table for rotation through 90.degree. to pass horizontally underneath the stack of bars exiting on the roller table and to return to the upper receiving position.

  • Patent number: 4484465
Abstract: The braking channel comprises a fixed channel section for each strand of bars, provided with two open-bottom chambers which are normally covered up by the sliding surfaces of a pendulum structure, the effect of which will brake the bars and let them come to rest. For bar discharge on to the cooling bed, the pendulum structure is swivelled rhythmically toward the right and left to positions in which the discharge openings reach underneath a pair of chambers. The kinematic inversion could also be applied, in which case the sliding section would be in a fixed position and the channel sections would move in pendulum fashion.

  • Patent number: 4044585
Abstract: An entry rollerway for a cooling bed for elongate rolled stock in which all parts necessary for guiding and laterally ejecting the rods are carried by lantern-shaped cast members which also constitute the bearings for the rollerway rollers, so that the long support structure or the frame-like understructure previously used in entry rollerways is avoided.

  • Patent number: 4020942
Abstract: An entry roller way for conveying rolled rods and bars in particular flat or profiled rods and bars to a cooling bed has a transverse conveyor apparatus laterally connected thereto, which comprises a laterally displaceable intermediate slide member disposed between a transfer guide member and a stacking channel located adjacent the cooling bed and provided with a vertically displaceable bottom plate. The intermediate slide member is laterally displaceable in the slide plane and is provided with two comb-like edges which correspond to the comb-like edges of the adjacent transfer guide slide and the bottom plate of the stacking groove respectively; the intermediate slide member can be displaced close to the flat rods stacked on the bottom plate without interfering with the removal therefrom.
