  • Patent number: 5716490
Abstract: A low mass heater is disclosed for rapid heat-up having thin arcuate heater portions adjacent the rollers and separated therefrom by a narrow gap for injecting heat into peripheral portions of the rollers. These arcuate portions may be ductile and have slots therein for adjusting the gap, and also include finger members for self-cleaning of the rollers. A notch is formed in a heater portion for easy lamination of a perfect binder of a booklet. Also, the laminator casing is shaped in the form of a dome having air passage slots therein, which eliminates the need for a cooling fan for the electronic components of the laminator. The dome shape also provides a large sloping surface for an ergonomic control arrangement. After lamination of a first batch of plastic envelopes requiring high laminating temperatures, a second batch requiring low temperatures can be immediately laminated without waiting for cooling down of the heater, by increasing the angular drive roller velocity.

  • Patent number: 5158407
Abstract: A tool head can be connected to a tool holder by an open-ended tension ring provided in a peripheral conical recess of the tool holder. The diameter of the tension ring can be reduced by an actuating device acting tangentially with respect to the tension ring. In a coupling position of both tool portions, the tension ring at one side is supported by a side surface of the recess and at the opposite side presses against an annular shoulder of a fitting pin of the tool head.

  • Patent number: 4761101
Abstract: A rotating body, for example a chuck (10) comprises a sensor (56), a signal processing unit with amplifier and a plurality of transmitting diodes (14) and receiving diodes (16) peripherally spaced in a radial plane, in which also a stationary transceiving station (18) is arranged. The sensor (56) detects special working conditions of a tool clamped in the chuck (10). Signals of sensor (56) are fed to the signal processing unit. Sense commands transmitted from the transceiving station (18) via receiving diodes (16) are processed in the processing unit during rotation of the chuck (10) and corresponding working condition signals are transmitted from the transmitting diodes (14) back to the transceiving station (18).

  • Patent number: 4651600
Abstract: A carrier and a head having fastened thereon a cutting place are connected with one another exclusively by a form-fit coupling. A first contact surface of the head grips under the carrier. A second contact surface of the head above the first surface grips behind an abutment of the carrier and a third contact surface of the head arranged between the first and second contact surfaces thereof serves for transmission of the cutting load.

  • Patent number: 4461602
Abstract: A milling cutter consists of a shaft 10, a cutter plate 12 and a screw bolt 14 by means of which the cutter plate 12 is detachably fastened at the front end of the shaft 10. The latter has a recess in the front face thereof. The recess is defined by three planar side faces leaving a peripheral gap between each pair thereof. The cutter plate substantially formed triangularly is fitted in the recess for being inmovable in a radial plane. Protrusions 30 of the cutter plate protrude through the gaps and are provided with a cutting edge respectively.

  • Patent number: 4456270
Abstract: A drill chuck consists of a two-piece housing, a two-piece insert and a cage for a plurality of jaws. The two pieces of the housing are threaded together. The rearward piece thereof is a fastening sleeve. The two pieces of the insert are in threaded driving engagement. The front piece is held against rotation and is only shifted axially in order to open or close the mouth formed by the jaws. The rearward piece of the insert is held against axial displacement and can be rotated by inserting a key through a bore of the housing from the rearward side thereof.A drill can be clamped in the chuck and then the chuck with the clamped drill can be inserted in a driving shaft of a drilling machine.
