Patent number: 10674325Abstract: A method for implementing a multimedia messaging service between a terminal that communicates with a network over a radio path and a server includes receiving a multimedia message addressed to the terminal at the server. The multimedia message includes at least one multimedia component. A notification message is transmitted over the radio path to the terminal to indicate that a multimedia message is available for retrieval from the server. The notification message includes the information on at least one property of the multimedia component. The notification message is received at the terminal, whereupon a bearer is selected for transferring the multimedia component over the radio path on the basis of the property data conveyed by the notification message. Publication number: 20080102257Abstract: A paper- or cardboard-based security product and a method of manufacturing it. The product comprises a paper or a cardboard which is equipped with an identifiable security symbol. According to the present invention, the security symbol comprises a layer in the product, one which consists of a synthetic, electrically conductive polymer, the conductivity of which has been changed locally to form an electrically conductive or, alternatively, electrically non-conductive figure. Furthermore, a figure indicating the security symbol has been fitted on the surface of the paper or the cardboard product. A security product according to the present invention can be produced simply by first applying a conductive polymer, for instance in a non-conductive form, onto a paper, after which an acidic figure is printed in such as way that the area below the figure becomes conductive. The figure can be detected and in this way it acts as a guarantee of authenticity for the product.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 1, 2004Publication date: May 1, 2008Inventors: Outi Aho, Lars Gadda, Tuomas Mustonen, Bjorn Knuthammar, Magnus Berggren, Thomas Kugler, Bo Eriksson, Petronella Norberg, Tommi Remonen

Patent number: 7083703Abstract: A filler comprising cellulose or lignocellulose fibrils on which light-scattering material particles have been deposited, and a process for the manufacture thereof. In the filler according to the invention, an alkyl derivative of cellulose, such as CMC, has been sorbed to the fibrils. Such a filler can be prepared from a source material containing cellulose or lignocellulose fibrils by first forming a fibril suspension, into which there are fed source materials forming an inorganic or organic salt that, when precipitating, forms a light-scattering pigment. The filler according to the invention has very good strength properties; in particular, good bond strength is achieved by means of it. The concentration of mineral pigment in paper can be increased and, furthermore, the grammage of paper can be lowered without the other important properties of the paper deteriorating.Type: GrantFiled: April 24, 2002Date of Patent: August 1, 2006Assignee: M-real OyjInventors: Outi Aho, Petri Silenius, Maija Pitkänen, Soili Hietanen

Publication number: 20060144543Abstract: A process of producing a fibrous composition, which includes a first component that comprises vegetable fibres and a second component that consists of a synthetic, electrically conductive polymer. According to the method, the vegetable fibres comprise porous, loose and separate fibres, and the electrically conductive polymer is an independently electrically conductive polymer which is doped in order to generate charge carriers in the polymeric material, the synthetic polymer being produced by in situ—polymerization inside the fibres and on their surfaces. The doping agent is an organic sulphonic acid which is allowed to absorb into the fibres in an aqueous medium, and after that a monomer corresponding to the polymer is brought into contact with the fibres and polymerised. By means of the invention, the electrically conductive polymers are attached to fibres so firmly that they are not substantially out-washable by water.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 1, 2004Publication date: July 6, 2006Inventors: Outi Aho, Lars Gadda, Soili Peltonen, Kirsi Immonen, Sari Liukkonen, Heli Funck

Publication number: 20060127673Abstract: Multilayered product and method for the production thereof. The product comprises at least one first layer, which is formed by cellulosic or lignocellulosic fibres, and at least one second layer, which is adjacent to the first layer or fitted at a distance therefrom. According to the invention the second layer contains a synthetic, electrically conducting polymer which is mixed with a binder which forms a binder matrix, said second layer being at least partially electrically conductive. By means of the invention it is possible to produce electrically conductive laminates which are suitable for authenticity products.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 1, 2004Publication date: June 15, 2006Inventors: Outi Aho, Lars Gadda, Soili Peltonen, Sari Liukkonen, Heli Funck, Eero Hiltunen

Patent number: 6885870Abstract: A method is provided for inquiring about information relating to a mobile terminal of a cellular network, from a messaging server external to the cellular network. An inquiry is sent from the messaging server to the cellular network, comprising an external first identifier for identifying said terminal. In the cellular network the first identifier is mapped to a second internal identifier. The information relating to the terminal (MS) is determined with the aid of said second identifier and a responsive message is sent from the cellular network to said messaging server. In the response message, said information relating to the terminal is indicated by the first identifier.Type: GrantFiled: February 22, 2001Date of Patent: April 26, 2005Assignee: Nokia Mobile Phones, Ltd.Inventor: Outi Aho
