Abstract: The invention relates to a diaper of the kind including outer and inner layers enclosing an absorbing layer, an absorbing body or the like, wherein at least one recess is arranged in the absorbing layer and a liquid passage in line with said recess at the inner covering layer. In addition to the recess in the absorbing layer, there are a number of channels extending from the recess forming together with the recess a storage space defined by the outer and inner layers of the diaper for temporary receiving liquid not yet absorbed and providing an extended liquid absorbing edge surface.

Abstract: This invention relates to a diaper device wherein a layer (1) engaging the user is provided with an opening (15) and the layer (1) is arranged an outer layer enclosing at least one absorption body (5) wherein a layer (22) covering the absorption body has at least one opening (25) facing the user. The at least one absorption body enclosing layer (22) is part of a container (2) which is closed besides this one opening (25) connected to the opening (15) in the layer (1) engaging the user. The container has soft flexible wall portions (21) connecting its at least one absorption body enclosing outer layer with the layer (22) engaging the user and that the wall portions are so adapted that in the used position the volume of the container essentially exceeds the absorption body volume meaning that the at least one absorption body is situated at a distance from the opening or openings.

Abstract: An absorbent pad such as an incontinence pad comprises a liquid-impervious back sheet with spaced islands of absorbent material thereon. A liquid-pervious cover sheet has pockets formed therein, in which the islands of absorbent material are disposed. The cover sheet is secured, either adhesively or by heat sealing, directly to the impervious sheet along lines that separate the islands of absorbent material and the pockets that contain them. The pad is formed by applying a strip of cover sheet material to a rotating multi-perforate drum and forming the pockets in the cover sheet material either mechanically, or by drawing hot air inwardly through the holes in the drum in the case of a heat-deformable material such as polypropylene fibers. The drum then rotates past a pocket-filling station, where absorbent material such as cellulose fluff is drawn into the pockets by vacuum applied internally of the drum.

Abstract: When practicing a method and using an arrangement for producing a fibre layer or fibre mat from a liquid-absorbent material, e.g. in the manufacture of diapers, a fibre-air suspension is blown in between two endless, mutually parallel air-permeable conveyor belts (12,13) at a pressure which exceeds the pressure of the ambient surroundings. The conveyor belts form therebetween a forming space which is defined laterally by stationary or movable side-walls (18), the inner surfaces of which may be profiled so as to provide a fibre layer or a fibre mat with profiled side-edges.
