  • Patent number: 11971076
Abstract: A wheel brake arrangement (100) for a wheel of a vehicle, the wheel brake arrangement comprising a brake pad (102) arranged to be controllable between a first stage in which the brake pad is connected to a brake disc for reducing the speed of the vehicle, and a second stage in which the brake pad is disconnected from the brake disc; and a carrier (104) connected to the brake pad for supporting the brake pad, wherein the wheel brake arrangement further comprising a resilient member (106) connected between the carrier (104) and the brake pad (102), the resilient member (106) comprising a first portion (108) connected to a surface (110) extending in a radial and tangential direction of the brake pad (102) and arranged to force the brake pad (102) away from the brake disc when the brake pad assumes the second stage, and a second portion (112) connected between a radially inner surface (114) of the brake pad (102) and a portion (116) of the carrier.

  • Publication number: 20230108312
Abstract: A brake pad retainer system in a vehicle disc brake comprises a calliper bridge and a calliper housing supporting brake pads on either side of a rotary brake disc, wherein the system is arranged to hold one brake pad in position relative to the calliper bridge. The retainer system comprises a retainer bracket arranged parallel to the brake disc axis and extending across a back plate of the brake pad, and a retaining spring arranged along a radially outer portion of the back plate and extending between the retainer bracket and the back plate. The retainer bracket has an angled surface arranged in contact with a corresponding first angled surface on the retaining spring. The retaining spring has a second angled surface arranged in contact with a corresponding angled surface on the radially outer portion of the back plate. The disclosure also relates to a brake pad.

  • Publication number: 20150101640
Abstract: The invention relates to an arrangement for de-icing railway trucks and ore concentrate in railway trucks. The arrangement comprises a tunnel (2) having a number of discharge openings (3) for heated air which is used for de-icing and at least one exhaust opening (4) for used air. An air heater (5) is in communication with the discharge openings (3) through a supply air duct (6). The arrangement further comprises a water supply device arranged to supply water to the air heater (5) and/or the supply air duct (6). The capacity of the air heater (5) is high enough to heat the air to a temperature sufficient for vaporizing at least a portion of the water. The invention also relates to a corresponding method for de-icing.

  • Publication number: 20080277212
Abstract: A service disc brake is provided for a heavy vehicle. The brake includes a brake disc, a first brake pad and a second brake pad arranged on opposite sides of the brake disc, a first displaceable piston and a second displaceable piston which are arranged to act on the first brake pad and the second brake pad, respectively, and an actuator for braking the brake disc. The disc brake includes a third displaceable piston, the second piston and the third piston being connected to each other via a closed space containing a hydraulic fluid. The braking actuator is arranged to act on the first piston and the third piston for displacement of the first piston towards the brake disc and for displacement of the third piston so as to displace the second piston towards the brake disc by the hydraulic fluid in the closed space.
