    Abstract: A capacity variable type rotary compressor and a driving method thereof are provided. The compressor includes bypass holes that connect a compression chamber and a suction chamber of a cylinder divided from each other by a vane formed at a sub bearing, a sliding valve that opens and closes bypass holes installed at the sub bearing, and a pressure difference maintaining device that enables the sliding valve to perform a capacity exclusion driving, thereby lowering a cooling capability at the time of the capacity exclusion driving. By maintaining the capacity exclusion driving for a long time, an air conditioner is variously controlled and unnecessary power waste of the compressor and the air conditioner to which the compressor is applied is decreased. A back pressure of the sliding valve is fast and precisely switched by a pilot valve having a high reliability, so that the compressor is widely applied to an air conditioner thereby to enhance the efficiency thereof.

    Abstract: A capacity variable device for a rotary compressor and an operation method of an air conditioner having the same are provided. The capacity variable device includes a valve hole in which a sliding valve slidingly inserted is formed at a cylinder, and a bypass hole formed to cross the valve hole and communicating with an intake hole of the cylinder such that resistance of a refrigerant being bypassed is reduced and the operation is performed with its cooling capability lowered. Various operation modes of the air conditioner employing the same are performed and a power consumption is reduced, thus, the efficiency of the compressor is improved. In addition, a structure of the capacity variable device is simplified, thereby lowering a manufacturing cost, simplifying assembly and thusly improving productivity.

    Abstract: In a capacity variable type rotary compressor, its operation method and an operation method of an air conditioner having the same, a plurality of discharge holes are formed, and one of the discharge holes is connected to a bypass hole, which is opened and closed by a sliding valve according to a pressure difference, so as to be selectively connected to an intake hole. Accordingly, a cooling capability lowering rate is increased during capacity varying operation of the compressor, such that the air conditioner can be variously controlled, and unnecessary power consumption of the compressor and the air conditioner having the same can be reduced. Also, by using a pilot valve which is economical and reliable, back pressure of the sliding valve can be speedily and accurately switched.
