  • Patent number: 10959120
Abstract: Methods and apparatus related to the implementation and selection of alterative control information reporting formats are described. A control information reporting format, corresponding to a connection between a wireless terminal and a base station, e.g., for an uplink dedicated control channel, is selected, as a function of at least one of: an application being executed, device capability information, channel condition information, system loading information, and user quality of service information. Different wireless terminals may use different control information reporting formats at the same time. • Patent number: 9736721
Abstract: Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate supporting multiple connections associated with a wireless terminal. Notifications may be provided to a primary base station upon establishment and/or removal of connections between the wireless terminal and secondary base station(s). Additionally, the multiple connections may be evaluated and a preferred connection from the set of multiple connections may be utilized to transfer data to the wireless terminal over a downlink connection.

  • Patent number: 9338795
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for communicating transmission backlog information are described. Reporting control factors are utilized to expand reporting possibilities for a fixed bit size request report. At least one report control factor is determined as a function of channel quality information, power information, device capability information, and/or quality of service information. A transmission backlog report value is interpreted as a function of a reporting control factor. A wide range of quantization schemes for reporting transmission backlog information are facilitated corresponding to a small bit size report. A communications device can adaptively select a quantization request level closely matched to its current needs such as to provide an accurate representation of its current traffic channel resource needs.

  • Patent number: 9125093
Abstract: Methods and apparatus related to control information reporting over wireless communication channels are described. Various embodiments include communicating control information format definition information over a wireless link. For example, in some embodiments, a base station downloads control information reporting format definition information, e.g., corresponding to a new release or a custom reporting format, into a wireless terminal. As another example, a wireless terminal generates a custom control information reporting format, that it intends to use, and communicates definition information corresponding to the generated custom control reporting format to a base station.

  • Patent number: 9001867
Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus receives an intended signal from a first wireless device operating in a full-duplex mode, receives an interfering signal from a second wireless device communicating with the first wireless device, and reduces an interference of the received intended signal caused by the interfering signal by projecting a matrix of the received intended signal onto a space associated with the interfering signal.

  • Patent number: 8335196
Abstract: Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate supporting narrowband and wideband operation within a wideband wireless communication environment. For example, wideband operation can be enhanced by enabling faster communication of information as compared to narrowband operation, transfer of supplemental data available to wideband devices, and the like. Pursuant to another example, timing of information transfer can be scheduled over a plurality of subbands to enable a narrowband device to obtain a set of information over one of the subbands during a set of time intervals, while a wideband device can receive the set of information over the plurality of subbands during a reduced set of time intervals.

  • Patent number: 8315662
Abstract: Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate controlling transmission power of a wireless terminal. A downlink power control channel segment may include an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) tone-symbol that may comprise a first component and a second component. The first component may be an in-phase (I) component and the second component may be a quadrature (Q) component, for example. A power command may be transmitted in the first component. Further, information associated with a wireless terminal may be transmitted in the second component. The information associated with the wireless terminal may be, for instance, a portion of a scrambling mask associated with the wireless terminal.

  • Patent number: 8285283
Abstract: Method and apparatus for an access terminal which makes handoff decisions between a number of potential alternative attachment points based on service level indicating metrics are described. The access terminal computes a service level indicating metric differently for a current connection than for a potential alternative connection. A service level indicating metric is a function of loading information and received signal strength. A selection may be made by selecting between attachment points by selecting the attachment point having the highest service level indicating metric from among a plurality of attachment points, one per possible carrier where the attachment point which is considered for a given carrier is the one having the best connection for the given carrier. The access terminal handoff decision approach provides handoff decisions which are nearly as optimal as those which can be achieved using a centralized control node but without the requirement for centralized handoff decisions.
