Patent number: 10855951Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems and methods for performing SAG effect compensation on a video signal received over an AC-coupled video link. In one aspect, a method for performing SAF effect compensation includes applying a filter to the received video signal to generate a corrected video signal, where a transfer function of the filter is dependent on a transmission parameter that is based on a plurality of parameters of the AC-coupled link. The method further includes extracting predefined content from the corrected video signal, and adjusting the transmission parameter based on a comparison of the extracted predefined content with certain expected content, so that adjusted transmission parameter can be used for one or more subsequent applications of the filter, thereby realizing an adaptive filter.Type: GrantFiled: October 30, 2018Date of Patent: December 1, 2020Assignee: ANALOG DEVICES GLOBAL UNLIMITED COMPANYInventors: John Cullinane, Pablo Ventura, Niall D. Patent number: 10645337Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems and methods that use video line inversion for reducing impact of periodic interference signals on analog transmission of video signals over wired links/connections. In one aspect of the present disclosure, in certain circumstances, a transmitter may be configured to perform video line inversion on a certain subset of video lines of a video signal prior to transmitting the video signal to the receiver, and a receiver may be configured to perform a corresponding inversion for the same subset of video lines of the video signal received at the receiver. Such video line inversion performed by the transmitter and the receiver may advantageously allow reducing or eliminating the impact of periodic interference signals that might affect the video signal during transmission, resulting in an improved quality of the video rendered at the receiver side.Type: GrantFiled: April 30, 2019Date of Patent: May 5, 2020Assignee: Analong Devices International Unlimited CompanyInventors: Sean M. Mullins, Seamus Ryan, Pablo Ventura, Isaac Molina Hernandez

Patent number: 10623692Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems and methods for communicating video signals and control data over a HD, wired, AC-coupled video and control link. In one aspect, an example system includes a scheduler that is configured to allocate time slots for exchange of data between a transmitter and a receiver over such a link. The scheduler is configured to, for each of at least one or more video lines of a video frame of a video signal acquired by a camera, allocate a plurality of time slots for transmitting a plurality of video components of said video line from the transmitter to the receiver, allocate one or more time slots for transmitting transmitter control data from the transmitter to the receiver, and allocate one or more time slots for transmitting receiver control data from the receiver to the transmitter.Type: GrantFiled: October 30, 2018Date of Patent: April 14, 2020Assignee: Analog Devices Global Unlimited CompanyInventors: Niall D. Patent number: 8428255Abstract: A sink may be to used to process multimedia digital data. The sink may include a plurality of input ports, an output port, a switchably-enabled selector to select an input port from a plurality of HDMI input ports to couple to an output port, a control circuit to detect encrypted data in a channel of the input ports; and a plurality of decryption engines. Each of the decryption engines may be coupled to respective input ports to synchronize with a corresponding encryption engine of a data source after the control circuit detects encrypted data in the channel of the respective input port. Additional circuitry may be included to operate the sink in a power saving mode. Also, methods for processing the data in both power saving and non-power saving modes.Type: GrantFiled: December 9, 2010Date of Patent: April 23, 2013Assignee: Analog Devices, Inc.Inventors: Joseph Michael Barry, Jingjiang Yin, Theodore Hecht, Jr., Joseph Michael Fernald, Lucas Valentin Garcia, Gabriel Gomez Perez, Pablo Ventura Domingo, William Mornavil, Liam O'Donnell

Patent number: 7702710Abstract: A digital signal processor receives samples of a first digital signal which is to be decimated and samples of a second digital signal which is to be interpolated. A digital signal processing engine performs a decimation function on samples of the first digital signal and an interpolation function on samples of the second digital signal on a time-shared basis. The digital signal processor has a first dual memory space for storing the samples of the first digital signal and a second dual memory space for storing the samples of the second digital signal. Outputs retrieved from a dual memory space are pre-added and applied to a multiplication and accumulation stage which operates on the pre-added outputs and a filter coefficient of a digital filter.Type: GrantFiled: September 12, 2005Date of Patent: April 20, 2010Assignee: Analog Devices, Inc.Inventor: Pablo Ventura Domingo
