  • Patent number: 5460100
Abstract: A service bypass apparatus for isolating a door from an automatic door operator on a passenger transit type railway vehicle, and lock such door in a closed position, which includes a partially rotatable shaft having a blocking lever arm rigidly secured to the rotatable shaft which can be pivoted into a position sufficient to block the door from opening. The shaft is also provided with at least one cam adapted to operate at least one switch which will electrically and pneumatically isolate the door from the automatic door operator, and activate whatever bypasses are necessary to permit other door operators to function in their normal manner. A remote control apparatus is also provided which includes a partially rotatable cylinder with a closed-loop cable interconnecting the rotatable cylinder and the shaft, so that any partial rotation of the cylinder will cause a partial rotation of the shaft as necessary to isolate the door from the automatic door operator.

  • Patent number: 5454399
Abstract: An application and release magnet valve including an electropneumatic pilot valve portion for controlling a main air valve portion for supplying, maintaining, and releasing air pressure in the brake cylinders on a railway vehicle. The electropneumatic pilot valve portion includes an application solenoid which opens a first diaphragm actuated ball check valve in the main air valve portion to supply air from a supply port to a delivery port and includes a release solenoid which opens a second diaphragm actuated ball check valve to vent air from the delivery port to an exhaust port.

  • Patent number: 5340203
Abstract: A diaphragm-type of variable load control valve device having a diaphragm piston assembly for effectively providing pressurized fluid to the brake cylinders of a railway vehicle in accordance with the brake demand established by a vehicle operator and at a pressure level in conformance with the load condition of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 5141293
Abstract: An isolation valve device for a hydraulic brake system of a railway vehicle including passageways via which hydraulic pressure communication is established between a pressure controller and the brake units of each truck of a railway vehicle, and a bore to receive a pair of piston valves adapted to interrupt hydraulic pressure communication in a respective one of the passageways leading to the different truck brake units, when a pressure differential occurs therebetween, due to a ruptured brake line at one of the trucks, for example, causing a hydraulic fluid leak thereat.
