  • Patent number: 11259743
Abstract: A method for identifying human joint characteristics, the method including the steps of: using a mobile imaging device, taking at least one image of the joint, and then identifying a joint pain location by identifying three different locations in the image near the joint, so that a center point between the locations can be triangulated.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 8, 2018
Date of Patent: March 1, 2022
    Assignee: Strive Orthopedics, Inc.
Inventors: Padraic R. Obma, Visnu D. Fraenkel, Wayne M. Hansen
  • Patent number: 11172874
Abstract: A method of conducting a procedure for a diagnosis of a portion of a patient's human musculoskeletal system, the method comprising a remediation recommendation method comprising the steps of: obtaining patient demographics, applying sensors above and below the joint, and then taking an image of the joint using a mobile device. Next, analyzing the image to determine bone centerlines, then instructing patient via a mobile device to perform a task involving assuming certain positions and performing certain movements, then the patient performing the task while the sensors record data about joint location and movement information. Next, using the data, image analysis and patent demographics to make a recommendation regarding joint ailment remediation.

  • Publication number: 20170196763
Abstract: An intermittent and sequential compression device accommodates an angular placement and application of the device as used within a limb support. The support can incorporate a variety of supports and braces of the type that can be used with human limbs, and the joints of such limbs, in particular. Disposed within the support is a plurality of sequentially-disposed and intermittently inflatable and deflatable air chambers. Each air chamber has an air inlet port and an air outlet port, which can be the same structure or different structure. Each chamber port is to the first end of an air-passage tube. The second end of the air-passage tube is connected a pneumatic pump, the pneumatic pump being connected to an electric power supply and to a controller. The controller operates in accordance with a pre-programmed scheme to alternate the inflation and deflation of the air chambers.

  • Publication number: 20160242646
Abstract: A variety of device constructs are contemplated in the wearable sensing devices of the present invention, each of which facilitate the monitoring of physical and physiological parameters in humans. Wearable sensing devices are incorporated into a wearable and comprise a small portable power supply; monitoring electronics mounted to or used in the wearable; a processing unit or component; and a memory unit or component to continuously or intermittently record parameter data—such data then being stored in an onboard portable memory unit and/or wirelessly transmitted to another electronic device or devices. The wearable sensing device incorporates a wireless data transmission unit or component to link to a personal computing device. The memory unit can be synchronized with the processing unit to save and then later download monitoring data for detection of any physical or physiological condition that is benign or a condition that requires mediation of some sort.
