Abstract: A method for user reporting of spam mobile messages includes causing mobile messages to pass through a filter node prior to delivery to a user and, in the filter node, creating a record corresponding to each mobile message. The record includes metadata extracted from the mobile message and the content of the mobile message. Each record is stored in an archive and each message is then routed to the user. The method also includes receiving a report message from the user indicating that a mobile message received by the user is a spam mobile message, retrieving the record corresponding to the spam mobile message from the archive, and associating the metadata in the retrieved record with the report message.

Abstract: The invention relates to a system and method of managing SMS messages in a first mobile operator network, said network comprising a plurality of subscribers and a Short Message Service Centre (SMSC) The invention can be implemented by carrying out the steps of starting a delivery attempt of the SMS message from a first subscriber to a second subscriber via said SMSC; intercepting transparently said SMS message delivery attempt from the first subscriber in the network before delivery of said SMS message; routing said intercepted SMS message delivery attempt via a smart services control node in the network; examining said message delivery attempt for possible invocation of a smart service to said SMS message; and invoking said smart services for said SMS message destined to said subscriber in response to said examination. The invention can be implemented in a single network or between two or more networks.

Abstract: A message service entity of a first mobile operator network receives an SMS message and inspects delivery trail information associated with the received message. The message service entity controls invocation of a message-handling service for the received message based on the inspected delivery trail information. The delivery trail information can be carried with the message and the step of inspecting delivery trail information associated with the received message can comprise inspecting the delivery trail information carried with the message. Alternatively, the message service entity stores delivery trail information for messages previously processed by the message service entity, and the step of inspecting delivery trail information associated with the received message comprises using an identifier in the received message, or derived from the received message, to access the stored delivery trail information.
