    Abstract: Described is a pillow having an integrated alarm system that is wirelessly operable using an external electronic device, such as a smartphone, tablet computer, or other similar electronic devices. The pillow has a soft, cushioned body, preferably composed of foam, and the pillow has an interior cavity in which an alarm system is positioned. The exterior surface of the pillow body includes a stretchable band thereon to help the user to hold the pillow. Further, the pillow can be disposed within a removable cover that protects the pillow body from stains or damage. The alarm system includes a speaker for producing a tone or playing music to wake a user and a vibrating motor to silently wake the user without disturbing others. The user can select the time of the alarm and the type of the alarm remotely using the external electronic device.

The heater unit is mounted within a partition that positions the heater unit relative to the housing and at least partially defines a bypass flow passage in fluid communication with ambient air surrounding the housing, the partition further defining a flow diverting passage leading from the bypass flow passage to the suction flow passage and through which ambient air is drawn from the bypass flow passage when a smoker puffs on a cigarette inserted in the heater unit opening.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a process by which smoothness, body and a permanent wave pattern can be imparted to multi-textured hair of all types, from hair having an excessively tightly curled appearance, such as Negroid hair, to hair having a straight appearance, such as Caucasian hair, with substantially less damage to the hair. The process of the present invention uniquely combines the use of two hair structure altering chemicals--an alkaline hydroxide (such as sodium hydroxide) and a thioglycolate reducing agent (preferably ammonium thioglycolate)--to harmoniously bring about a desired wave pattern in the hair. Using the Wave Balance Scale (a hair reference scale) of the present invention, a sodium hydroxide formulation is chosen based on the type and natural curl level of the hair. The sodium hydroxide formulation is applied to the hair for a time sufficient to relax the natural curl in the hair by breaking some of the sulfide bonds in the hair.

A calibration head (15), a flexible tubing (23) and a bellows (20) enclose a volume of air at atmospheric pressure with a transducer (11) to be calibrated subject to the pressure inside the volume. All of the other apparatus in the drawing apply oscillations to bellows (20) causing the volume to change thereby applying oscillating pressures to transducer (11) whereby transducer (11) can be calibrated.
