Abstract: A bulk material suitable for use in a chewing gum contains at least about 40 wt. % dry basis sorbitol, at least about 7 wt. % dry basis other than sorbitol, and no more than about 10 wt. % water, wherein the bulk material is amorphous and remains amorphous with shear. A chewing gum, comprising: a) a gum base; b) a flavor; and c) a bulk material contains at least 40 wt. % dry basis sorbitol, at least 7 wt. % dry basis polyol other than sorbitol and no more than 10 wt. % water.

Abstract: A chewing gum is provided in the present disclosure. In an embodiment, the chewing gum comprises at least one wettable filler wherein the wettable filler aids in producing an increasing release of one or more hydrophilic additives. In another embodiment, the chewing gum comprises a wettable filler having a ?? in a range of at least 15.0 mJ/m2 to about 65.0 mJ/m2, wherein the wettable filler aids in increasing the release of at least one hydrophilic additive. A method for increasing the release of one or more hydrophilic additives in a chewing gum composition is also provided.

Abstract: A chewing gum including non-crystalline sorbitol and method of making the same is provided. The chewing gum composition comprises a sugarless syrup made from aqueous sorbitol, a plasticizing agent selected from the group consisting of glycerin, propylene glycol and mixtures thereof, and a hydrogenated starch hydrolyzate syrup. Other confectionaries can be made from the same sugarless syrup.

The chewing gum is created from a formulation that includes a composition that comprises a syrup solution of aqueous sorbitol, a plasticizing agent selected from glycerin, propylene glycol and mixtures thereof, and an anticrystallization agent comprising alditols other than sorbitol having a degree of polymerization (DP) of 1 or 2.

Abstract: There is disclosed a synthetic non-chocolate flavored chewing gum base which is substantially free of natural gum products, as well as a method of making such a gum base. The gum base includes between about 10 and about 30 percent of a synthetic elastomer, between about 20 and about 70 percent of a synthetic resin, and between about 0.3 and about 2.4 percent cocoa powder. In accordance with the present invention, the cocoa powder has a fat content of less than about 1 percent.
