Abstract: A filtering device for an espresso maker includes a coffee powder basket and a filtering mechanism. The coffee powder basket includes a coffee powder receiving section for receiving coffee powders and a compartment below the coffee powder receiving section. The compartment includes an outlet for guiding coffee out of the coffee powder basket. The filtering mechanism includes a filtering plate and a swirl-creating device for creating swirl. Coffee passing through meshes of the filtering plate flows through the swirl-creating device and forms swirl to provide an atomized diffusion effect, allowing the coffee to encompass air and thus form coffee foams.

Abstract: In an apparatus for controlling extension and retraction of a shielding member, a bi-directional motor has a drive shaft coupled to the shielding member. A processing unit is operable in a normal operating mode, where the processing unit controls the motor for moving a free end of the shielding member between predetermined extended and retracted positions based on extended and retracted position information stored in a memory. When supply of electric power to the apparatus is interrupted, the processing unit determines current position information from motor rotation signals provided by a sensor unit such that the processing unit is able to automatically control the motor for moving the free end of the shielding member when supply of the electric power to the apparatus is resumed.

Abstract: A disposable 2-step safety lighter includes a fuel lever and spark wheel installed in different positions and completely separate. The working direction of both devices are different, with the fuel lever being pivotally mounted about a horizontal axis and the spark wheel being rotatably mounted about a vertical axis. Therefore, the lighter must be operated in two steps precisely or it can not be lit up, thereby increasing the difficulty of operation so as to prevent children from playing with the lighter ignorantly.
