  • Patent number: 8622884
Abstract: An endocardial heart function intervention device that optimizes the cardiac geometry in patients with heart failure. The device comprises one or more elastic elements sutured in place within a heart that will establish radial elasticity in a direction towards the inside of the ventricle and plastic deformation in a direction that is transversal to the ventricle and is configured to be adjusted axially and radially to and along a section of the endocardial wall while in a neutral rest condition and can thereafter expand to receive energy from the endocardial wall during the diastolic phase, to cede energy received to the endocardial wall during a systolic phase.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: January 7, 2014
    Assignee: CUBE S.r.L.
    Inventor: Paolo Ferrazzi
  • Patent number: 8337390
Abstract: An intracardiac device for restoring the functional elasticity of the cardiac structures, in particular for the treatment of cardiomyopathies and or valvulopathies, by storing energy from the cardiac structures and ceding energy to the cardiac structures during the cardiac cycle, has an elongated shape, is at least partially wound in coils and is attachable to a cardiac structure; the coils are selected in material, number and dimension so as to allow an elastic elongation of the intracardiac device higher than 10% of the rest length of the intracardiac device and are exposed, in use, to the blood flow.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 30, 2008
Date of Patent: December 25, 2012
    Assignee: CUBE S.r.l.
    Inventor: Paolo Ferrazzi
  • Publication number: 20110066235
Abstract: The invention consists in a device that concerns the optimization of the cardiac geometry in patients with heart failure. The device comprises one or more elastic elements in the radial direction towards the inside of the ventricle and plastic deformation in a direction that is transversal to the said ventricle, the element being equipped with means for attaching it to the internal wall of the ventricle.
