  • Publication number: 20240150057
Abstract: A method is provided for heat treating a food product contained in a package. The package is made of a packaging material comprising a carton layer. The method comprises exposing the package to hot water to thereby transfer heat from the hot water to the food product, drying the package, such that a water content in the carton layer of the packaging material is reduced, and exposing the package to cold water to thereby transfer heat from the food product to the cold water.

  • Publication number: 20240132059
Abstract: A method and system for collision avoidance that goes beyond automatic steering and braking. A trained artificial intelligence (AI)/machine learning (ML) system is used to detect an impending impact event that exceeds a predetermined severity threshold based on received sensor and vehicle operational data. Upon detecting such an impending impact event, vehicle systems are deployed to avoid or lessen the severity of the impending impact event. These vehicle systems include automatic steering and braking, and automatic tire flattening and vehicle anchor deployment which are intended to stop or slow the vehicle before impact.

  • Patent number: 10323917
Abstract: A fin deployment mechanism for a projectile. The mechanism includes at least one fin and at least one actuator. The fin is arranged in a deployable and retractable manner on the projectile. The fin and at least one balance weight are arranged so that, when the fin is deployed, the weight is displaced towards a center of the projectile and, when the fin is retracted, the weight is displaced from the center of the projectile. A method for deploying and retracting fins on a projectile. At least one fin is arranged in a deployable and retractable manner on the projectile. The fin is fitted to at least one balance weight such that when the fin is displaced from the center of the projectile the weight is displaced towards the center, and when the fin is displaced towards the center of the projectile the weight is displaced from the center.

  • Publication number: 20020178241
Abstract: A method and system for enabling a management system to learn at least one requirement of a previously unknown function. The management system includes a server which stores a list of types of devices, as well as configurations and settings for these devices. If the device attempts to initiate an unknown function, the server interrogates the device for an identification of pertinent information such as settings or configuration information. The device then sends the requested identification information to the server. After receiving the information, the server adapts to allow for effective execution of the previously unknown function. Alternatively, the server, upon determining that the function is not known, can contact an Internet server of the manufacturer of the device to request the pertinent information. In response, the server receives the requested information and adapts accordingly.

  • Patent number: 5823046
Abstract: A measuring vessel for measuring finely-ground packable and dry material, such as ground brewing coffee, cocoa, flour and so on is provided which includes a measuring tube (1) which is open at both ends. The bottom end of the tube includes a constriction (3) with an opening which is defined by an edge (4) which slopes relative to the horizontal plane. The measuring vessel is inserted vertically into the finely-ground material and the material enters the vessel from beneath, through the bottom opening. When the vessel is lifted, the material collected in the vessel will remain therein by virtue of frictional bounds in the material, until the vessel is turned upside down, whereupon the material will run out through the top opening.
