  • Publication number: 20230370335
Abstract: Techniques and systems are provided for interfacing one or more event detectors coupled by a common interconnect with a network interface. Interconnect signals indicative of events detected by the one or more event detectors using sensor data are propagated on the common interconnect. A monitor device indirectly or directly couple to the common interconnect monitors the interconnect signals. Information about a first event detector of the one or more event detectors is inferred, in part, from the interconnect signals and transmitted via the network interface.

  • Patent number: 11575535
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing contextual interaction with connected devices are described. A mobile device having a display that presents a user interface enabling access to functionalities provided by connected devices. The user interface may be updated as various contextually-related data is received. For example, data representing a current position of the mobile device, such as Bluetooth low energy beacon signals, WiFi signals, and the like, may be monitored. In response to determining that the current position is within a threshold proximity of a first location, the user interface may be updated to emphasize a first location interface corresponding to the first location over interfaces corresponding to other locations.

  • Patent number: 11151850
Abstract: Techniques for providing status information of a defined location are described. Data indicative of signal strength associated with radio frequency (RF) signals received by one or more devices communicating via a wireless communications protocol is accessed. A baseline signal strength profile based on the data is determined. The data indicative of signal strength associated with RF signals received by the one or more devices is monitored. Based on a comparison of the monitored data to the baseline signal strength profile, a presence of at least one person in a vicinity of the one or more devices is determined. At least one action based on the determined presence is initiated.

  • Patent number: 10552584
Abstract: Described herein are systems and methods for controlling access by a user to content. Access content limits may be set and enforced across the plurality of media devices. A user exceeding the limits may be disallowed from access to the content on any or all of the plurality of media devices, regardless of authorization by a digital rights management system. The content access limits for a user may be specified by one or more of time, cost, content category, and so forth.

  • Patent number: 10181255
Abstract: Methods are described for raising an alarm from an sensor device that is not paired with a sensor network using a broadcast mode. Embodiments at a sensor device include determining that data from a sensor of a sensor device indicates an alarm state, determining that the sensor device is not paired with a hub; and sending a broadcast message to a network. Embodiments at a hub for a sensor network include receiving an alarm message from a sensor device in a broadcast mode wherein the sensor device is not paired the hub; forwarding the alarm message to an alert service; receiving confirmation of the authenticity of alarm message; and generate an alert.

  • Patent number: 8943247
Abstract: Described herein are systems and methods for identifying which input of a sink device a source device is coupled to. The source devices provide content and are coupled to the sink devices which present at least a portion of the content. The source device provides a predetermined reference signal to the sink device. Selection of a plurality of inputs on the sink device is initiated until an emitted signal from the sink device which is based on the reference signal is detected by a sensor coupled to the source device. Once detected, the selected input may be associated with the source device. The source device may then use the associated input for automatic configuration of the sink device during future presentation of content.
