    Abstract: A detachable nasal cannula assembly is described that provides oxygen to a patient or delivers carbon dioxide from a patient to a monitor for testing. A nasal and head portion of the cannula assembly is detachable from a main tubing that is connected to an oxygen supply or a carbon dioxide monitor. The detachable nasal cannula assembly provides significant cost savings over presently known nasal cannulae.
