  • Publication number: 20180253691
Abstract: In some embodiments, apparatuses and methods are provided herein useful to deliver products to a customer at a landmark or rendezvous location, as opposed to a set street or mailing address. In some configurations, a retail product delivery system may include electronic user devices of delivery agents and customers, a shopping user interface and a delivery user interface, and a control circuit. By one approach, the control circuit receives a retail order from a particular customer, monitors individual activity of the particular customer, presents a selection opportunity permitting the particular customer to select a landmark or rendezvous location for delivery of the shipment, and instruct delivery of the shipment to the particular customer at the landmark or rendezvous location. In one aspect, the control circuit facilitates interaction between the electronic user devices of the particular customer and the assigned delivery agent.

  • Publication number: 20180150904
Abstract: An apparatus to coordinate physical exchanges includes a network interface configured to receive presence information corresponding to a receiving entity and to transmit coordinating information, wherein the network interface operably couples to a control circuit. The control circuit also operably couples to a memory having stored information regarding physical-exchange areas. The control circuit determines a present location for the aforementioned receiving entity using, at least in part, the presence information and then uses that present location to filter the information regarding physical-exchange areas to thereby identify a viable physical-exchange area that is sufficiently near the present location. The control circuit then transmits coordinating information that identifies the viable physical-exchange area to both the receiving entity and to the delivering entity via the network interface to thereby coordinate a delivery of a physical item from the delivery entity to the receiving entity.

  • Publication number: 20180082252
Abstract: Partiality vectors for a particular customer and vectorized characterizations of a plurality of products are employed by a control circuit to select a particular one of the plurality of products to ship to a particular customer. By one approach this selected product is shipped without the particular customer having ordered this product. By one approach the aforementioned selection is based upon a prediction that the particular customer will keep the selected product upon receipt thereof based upon those partiality vectors and vectorized characterizations notwithstanding that it may not be known whether the particular customer has ever previously made a purchasing decision regarding this particular product. By one approach a customer can return a delivered product without being required to leave their delivery address, (re)seal the product/package, and/or attach a return label thereto.
